Oh my get out your popcorn because are you in for a treat in the latest iteration of The Witcher in season 2. Now I've read a few reviews and some commentary from people and they weren't a fan of the latest adaption of The Witcher. I don't agree with their position that The Witcher was bad but I can understand their view point on it being a bit different to the first season.
In the first season we were introduced to The Witcher as a bad ass monster slayer roaming the continent in search of a few coins. A lone drifter embodied with magic and power. The Season final of season one also left us with an impressive fire mage Yenifer who destroyed an entire army and turned the tides of war.
However, when we meet Gerlt our favourite Witcher in season two his a little different. Not weaker or nurfed but still quite powerful, if anything he is stronger and more wiser. This is where The Witcher changes a little and I think it's what has a lot of people scratching their heads. The entirety of Season two is pretty much character development and setting up the franchises story line.
Now, it's not less magicie or less demon slaying as there is always a beast to kill. If anything it becomes more magical as now we have potions and warlocks, new beasts and a range of other problems for our favourite Witcher to solve.

But what season 2 also gives us is origin stories of our characters and dips into their past and how things have come to be. Explaining what a Witcher is and how they live and where they live.
It quickly becomes apparent that Geralt is definitely the strongest of the group including against the oldest member who is somewhat a father figure to the crew.

Season 2 really provides a glimpse into the creation of Witchers and then also further character development. We get to see what makes them tick and how they feel despite Geralt being a bad ass he becomes an even more bad ass as the story line grows from season one.
We also get a heap more new characters join the series setting us up for an epic season 3.

The Witcher Season 2 continues on its path of Geralt and his now daughter Ciri whom he is tasked with protecting. But even with her we now get to see further development of her powers after she dropped a Sallite with a single scream at the end of season 1.
Despite all the negative reviews I found season 2 to be a wonderful rendition of The Witcher and I can not wait for more and where the writers will go as parts of the video game are played out and others are blended in a new form fit for T.V viewing. I loved how most the episodes were hour long also.
