The two-part historical documentary series “Conqueror of Jerusalem: Salahaddin Ayyubi” tells the story of the life and deeds of the Egyptian sultan and founder of the great Ayyubid dynasty - Salahaddin Yusuf ibn Ayyubi. From early childhood, being the son of a famous commander, Salah ad-Din saw his destiny in serving the faith. But later he left religious school and followed in his father’s footsteps. He took part in the battles and liberation of Egypt from the crusaders, taking over the sultanate there. The year 1096 was marked by the first Crusade, as a result of which the City of David was taken and three European states were founded. Meanwhile, waging a continuous war and conquering new lands, Salahaddin annexed Iraq and Syria to his empire, surrounding the Holy City - it found itself surrounded by states hostile to it and fell in 1187. Power returned to the Muslims, but the Third Campaign of the Templars under the banner of God was just around the corner.
