Hellbound: A Chilling Exploration of Faith and Fear

I’ve had this show on laptop for almost a year now but I don’t know what stopped me from seeing it. But ,I finally did see it when I had nothing else to watch and today, I want to share it with you.

Honestly, I’d say if you think too much , question everything and probably have little faith, this show isn’t for you. Here’s why.

THE PLOT

Imagine the world going on as usual and all of a sudden, unearthly beings or monsters come from nowhere to deliver judgment to you. And this is more of a bad news than good news.

These monsters were said to deliver judgment to individuals who had sinned and were destined for hell. Once these monsters show up at your doorstep or in your face, they tell you the day and time that you are going to die and they would be there to make sure you’re off the surface of the earth and on your way to hell where you apparently deserve to be.

This led to the development of a so called religious group led by a young man named Jeong Jin-soo. This young man was more like Jesus Christ to the people. Whatever he said was what was believed and anyone that dared to slander or challenge him would see his end.

Along the line, more and more people started to receive these judgments until some individuals started to question the whole happening. Soon enough, this religious group got the media involved and a started to film the death of people who were being sent to hell. They even made money from it as it became more of a concert for the people.

Little did the people know that their Saviour, Jeong Jin-soo was also set to see his end soon as he had also received judgment some years back. All this was kept a secret by Jeong Jin-soo. But, what happens to Jeong Jin-soo and his followers when a new born baby also receives judgement. Did he commit a sin? Was this judgment really for sinners or something else was going on? You’d have to find out on your own.

MY THOUGHTS AND RATING

In all honesty, I’d rate this how a 6/10 because for a start it didn’t really make any sense to me. Looking into the perspective of real life, I don’t think something like this would happen in the world and even if it did, there would be a lot of questions that would need answers.

Maybe the writers had a different idea in mind but after watching the show, I had a lot more to think about than when I started it. I get that it’s just a movie but I should be able to resonate with it which I didn’t. But, I guess we would all have our individual views on this. So, I urge you to see this show and we will talk about it after.

Thanks for reading.
