It took me almost 5 hours with little break to loosen the braids on my hair last two weeks. Since I only needed my hands to get it done, I downloaded some short Korean movies that would keep my eyes busy. They were self recommended but all of them turned out to be good picks from the list of short movies I found.
So I'll share my thoughts on each of them starting from the first one I saw before the next. Okay, maybe I should just reveal a fact here and that is, I downloaded these three because of the actors that played the characters in them, they are all a favourite of mine for different reasons.
Unforgettable (2016) - Back To A Love Story
I'm a huge fan of the artist Do Kyung-soo for his amazing voice and beautiful songs, but I was yet to see a movie with him in it so that birthed the reason to check out "Unforgettable", a 1hr 53min movie about radio, music, first love and friendship. It starts with a radio DJ who receives a letter from a village 23years ago and reflects back to his teenage years with his four friends.
Did you just think it would be a boring movie? I thought the same too but it turned out way differently than I expected after the first scene. The whole movie was a story told back, four friends who remember a time they were five and how they lost one of them. Yes, it is a tragedy story but one you'd love from start to finish.
Ditto (2022) - Connected Beyond Time
This one had me hooked after three scenes when I saw Kim Hye-yoon from the very recent and interesting kdrama "Lovely Runner". It turns out she isn't really the female lead or maybe I could safely say the movie give just enough screen time to the six characters so it's hard to tell one out as the main character. It's 1hr 54mins movie about connecting to the future from the past.
A college guy falls in love with a college girl at first sight, somehow connects with a girl from the future through an old radio. It turns out, the girl is the daughter of the college girl he loves but he isn't the father. From anger to wrath to realization, he had to give up on his first love for the girl from the future to be born as it has been destined.
The only thing lacking in this movie is that, much wasn't revealed on how the guy loses his love to his closest friend that they got to marriage level.
The Magician (2015) - Eyes, Magic & Love
The last and the one with the best kiss scene I've seen in short movie, maybe it's just me though but I had goosebumps when I first watched the scene (yes, I've seen it over and over since after the first time lol). The storyline isn't very special though, just about a magician with a blue eye who saves a soon to be wedded princess and they both fall for each other as expected.
There was no good enough back story to why he works as a magician and to why his sister serves men with her body to keep him working as a magician that everybody loves. Even at the end of the movie, it shows an old man telling a little boy the story after the scene that left viewers wondering what happened to the two lovers.
I'm a fan of the male lead Yoo Seung-ho since the kdrama series "I Am Not A Robot" but I can't help but agree with a review thought I came across that he was way too young for the female character in this movie. Still, it was a good watch.
Which would you see? They are all short and require less of your time. On a scale of preference and to highly recommend, Ditto gets a 9/10 rating from me for the refreshing storyline and well played characters. Let me know in the comment section if you've seen any or will see any.

Wait...before I say anything, how many episodes each are in these movies? Truth be told, I love Korean movies but the long episodes and seasons put me off from watching them. Merit, the Korean-Nigeria lady 😄😄
These are amazing movies to watch but let me hear from you first to see if I would download or not.
They are all short movies, not series
Less than 2 hours each.
Start downloading and enjoy 😁
Wow. That's nice. I have movies for the season 🫠😇😇
Sounds good but I feel that the second story seems compilated to me. Maybe I didn't understand your word.
Whatever, I think I need to watch it to understand the plot.
It has some complications actually but that makes more interesting to see.
I even thought Ditto would be about time traveling. It's another love story. The Magician - of course, that's where we'll see you, where there is the best kiss scene. When will you watch Yoruba films?
The time travel was just through a radio like phone, and yes, another love story.
Of course, I love good kiss scenes 🤭
I will watch them when you recommend good ones for me.
