DEAD CITY season 1 [The Walking Dead]

in CineTV6 days ago

Greetings!

For those of us who followed The Walking Dead to its finale, we would agree that many of us grew to love Negan (Jeffery Dean Morgan) because of the way he changed and became a part of the group he once terrorized. Well, maybe not everyone liked him, but I'm sure the majority of us became fond of him.

After the final show, the next one I eagerly went on to watch was the spinoff featuring Maggie and Negan, titled The Walking Dead: Dead City*. When I watched it, I didn’t bother reading reviews, seeking spoilers, or trying to find out what the spinoff was all about. I just wanted to see Negan and how he would cope with his new, repentant lifestyle.

Oh! For those who didn’t watch the main show and are reading this, I’ll tell you—you’re missing out. The Walking Dead universe is a massive blessing to the world of TV series.

The show started with a twist: Maggie was hunting for Negan. Why? We didn’t know until later in the season. Maggie lied to Negan, claiming that her son, Hershel, had been kidnapped by someone who knew Negan very well. She said that only Negan could help her rescue her son.

Negan was curious and demanded to know what she meant by “someone who knows him.” Maggie explained that when they came to kidnap her son, they blew Negan's signature whistle—something that didn’t need further explanation.

Convinced, Negan agreed to go with Maggie to Manhattan to rescue her son. And that’s where the battle began.

Along the way, they encountered a bigger villain who had kidnapped Maggie’s son. As it turned out, the second-in-command of this group, Croat, was once one of Negan’s men. Everything became clear to Negan: the group needed him to lead them. They had kidnapped Hershel to lure Maggie into bringing Negan to them.

My Opinions on the Show

I won’t lie—every single aspect of the show was a major vibe for me. The best moment, in my opinion, was when Negan started to revert to his old self, which left Maggie scared of him. Negan had been cool and composed, but when he got angry, he needed to show those who provoked him what he was made of.

I absolutely loved that part. I can't count how many times I replayed that part.

Another standout moment was when Negan’s whistle was used to lure out Croat. Ohhh! That scene brought back such good memories of the original series.

I also loved how mature and gory the show was—there was no mercy for the walkers.

However, the ending spoiled things a little by bringing in too much emotion. That was the moment Maggie exchanged Negan for her son. Was it truly forceful exchange? No. Negan willingly agreed to sacrifice himself so that they would release Hershel.

Season 2 is coming next year 2025 and the trailer is out which shows that The old Negan came back to existence. Can't wait for 2025 to come.

I would rate the movie 9.5/10

Okay, it doesn't seem as scary as the title says which would have been my first red flag not to see it 😅

But still, I don't think I'll see it. There are more fun movies to see but I hope you enjoy the second season as much as you did with the first 😌

Wait!
You're not into The Walking Dead, are you?

If you are then....😅

Leave this thing for us that love TWD. Everything about that universe is a big flex
