¡Hola, gente de internet! Quiero hablar hoy de (en mi opinión) la mejor serie de todos los tiempos, se trata de The Walking Dead.
Hello internet people! I want to talk today about (in my opinion) the best series of all time, it's about The Walking Dead.
Desde muy pequeña, más o menos desde que tenía 5 o 6 años, me ha encantado el género terror y como no, los zombies. Así pues, una de las sagas de películas que vi primero fueron las de Resident Evil (un asco en mi opinión actual) y algunas otras más, sin embargo, Fox me robó el sueño cuando vi el comercial de una serie de Zombies que iniciaría muy pronto. Fue amor a primera vista.
From a very young age, more or less since I was 5 or 6 years old, I have loved the horror genre and of course, zombies. So, one of the movie sagas I saw first was Resident Evil (a disgusting in my current opinion) and some others. However, Fox stole my sleep when I saw the commercial for a series of Zombies that would start inside in a short time. It was love at first sight.

La historia sigue a Rick Grimes, un policía de Cynthiana, Kentucky que, tras recibir un disparo en el cumplimiento del deber, cae en estado de coma y despierta aproximadamente un mes después en un mundo post apocalíptico.
The story follows Rick Grimes, a police officer from Cynthiana, Kentucky who, after being shot in the line of duty, falls into a coma and wakes up about a month later in a post-apocalyptic world.
Decidido a buscar respuestas, Rick, aún débil, abandona el hospital y se dirige a su hogar. A medida que avanza está más confundido y aterrorizado por todo lo que ve en el camino.
Determined to search for answers, Rick, still weak, leaves the hospital and heads home. As he progresses he is more confused and terrified of everything he sees on the way.

Es una serie que aborda las relaciones sociales dentro de una sociedad y un mundo colapsado. Las historias de los protagonistas como también las de los antagonistas, están muy bien desarrolladas. Tenemos años de evolución y podemos ver como el carácter de la mayoría de ellos se fortalece con la vivencias y a veces se desmorona.
It's a series that show us the social relationships within a society and a collapsed world. The stories of the protagonists, as well as those of the antagonists, are very well developed. We have years of evolution and we can see how the character of most of them is strengthened by experiences and sometimes falls apart.
Acompañamos a los personajes en sus momentos más felices y también los tristes, las dificultades de los protagonistas casi se sienten como propias.
We accompany the characters in their happiest moments and also their sad ones, the protagonists' difficulties almost feel like our own.
The Walking Dead nos muestra como las cosas que anteriormente la sociedad priorizaba como el dinero, la posición social o el materialismo, pasan a un segundo plano y como todos en ese mundo, están en igualdad de condiciones.
The Walking Dead shows us how things that society previously prioritized such as money, social position or materialism, go to the background and like everybody in that world, they are on equal footing.
Nos presentan diferentes tipos de elementos: El núcleo familiar (las familias con hijos), los marginados (los hermanos Dixon), la persona que siempre juzga a simple vista (Andrea), la inocencia (Amy y Beth), la soberbia y la traición (Shane y otros personajes), la sabiduría (Dale y Hershel) la felicidad y el entusiasmo (Gleen)...
They show us different types of elements: The family nucleus (families with children), the marginalized (the Dixon brothers), the person who always judges everybody (Andrea), innocence (Amy and Beth), pride and betrayal (Shane and other characters), wisdom (Dale and Hershel) happiness and enthusiasm (Gleen) ...
Las diferentes situaciones, las difíciles decisiones... todo el contexto en el que se desenvuelven los personajes es perfecto. Los diálogos nos aportan muchísimo y la naturalidad de las actuaciones le dan un valor agregado.
The different situations, the difficult decisions ... the whole context in which the characters develop is perfect. The dialogues give us a lot and the naturalness of the performances give it added value.
Sencillamente es una serie que deja demasiadas enseñanzas de vida.
It's simply a series that leaves too many life lessons.
La fotografía, la dirección y sobre todo el maquillaje fueron los elementos que más me llamaron la atención de esta serie. Greg Nicotero hace un excelente trabajo como diseñador de maquillaje (no sé si se diría así) pero el diseño de sus zombies y la forma en la que los artistas que forman parte de su equipo de maquillaje lo hacen realidad, es realmente impresionante.
Photography, direction and especially makeup were the elements that most caught my attention in this series. Greg Nicotero does an excellent job as a makeup designer (I don't know if it call like that) but the design of his zombies and the way that the artists who are part of his makeup team bring it to life is truly impressive.
El encanto en el maquillaje de los zombies es precisamente eso, que en su mayoría todo es maquillaje y que son pocos los retoques que se hacen en post producción, por lo qué, el resultado es mucho más realista.
The attractiveness in the makeup of the zombies is precisely that, that mostly everything is makeup and that there are few retouching that are done in post production, so the result is much more realistic.
Los filtros y el arte inspirado en la degeneración y decadencia (en el ambiente) que tiene la serie son realmente geniales y le dan un valor bastante apreciado.
The filters and art inspired by the degeneration and decay (on the stages) that the series has are really great and give it a very appreciated value.
¡Es sencillamente genial! Va desde country y rock hasta jazz. Cada tema representa perfectamente cada situación y logra poner en contexto al espectador. Les dejo un ejemplo del OTS:
