Habe neue Reifen auf meinem Fahrrad, Schwalbe Marathon Plus, sind zwar keine "Winterreifen", haben aber mehr Grip als die alten und auch guten Pannenschutz. Man sollte keinen Platten damit bekommen.
Witzigerweise gibt es tatsächlich auch echte Winterreifen fürs Fahrrad. Mit Spikes. Aber denke nicht, dass man in der Stadt auf einer Schneefahrbahn damit gut fahren kann. Das sollte man mit dem Fahrrad ohnehin um jeden Preis vermeiden. Lebensgefährlich.
Winterreifen fürs Mountainbike / Off-road? Das würde vielleicht wirklich Sinn machen, aber das ständige Wechseln wäre mühsam. Was denkt ihr?

I have new tires on my bike, German Schwalbe Marathon Plus, they are not "winter tires", but they have more grip than the old ones and also good puncture protection. You shouldn't get a flat tire with them.
Funnily enough, there are actually real winter tires for bikes. With studs. But I don't think you can ride well on them in the city on a snowy road. You should avoid that at all costs on a bike anyway. Dangerous.
Winter tires for mountain biking / off-road? Maybe that would make sense, but the constant changing would be tedious. What do you think?

really depends on the weather condition, and whether the snow gets plowed from the streets and bike lanes, which it usually gets in Vienna.

Yep, hab warme Skihandschuhe, aber auch die helfen nur bedingt. Fahrradboten haben oft einen eigenen Hände/Windschutz montiert 😄
In my opinion, it is inconvenient to ride a bicycle in winter. With any tires.
Naja wenn es rutschig ist im Winter kann es schon sehr gefährlich werden. Hatte schon ein paar Mal echtes Glück mit dem Fahrrad. Je besser die Reifen desto geringer die Unfallgefahr ganz sicher!

Winter tires for bicycles can be useful in extreme climates, especially those designed for ice or winter mountain terrain. However, you should consider the discomfort on dry surfaces and the changing process, which can be bothersome.

I don't like cycling in winters, so I don't need to. If you cycle frequently, it'd be better to switch to winter tires for safety.
The title got me really interested, didn't know they made special winter tire for Bikes :D
But yeah, at slippery times like this, any amount of extra grip helps.
Why would you want to ride your bike in a cold, snowy place?
Since we have a lot of snow at the moment where I live, the question came up how to deal with the current weather condition.
It is clear reading a good cycling book next to the fire with a warm chocolate. Is there anything better?
I do like cycling though. But in our country only one type of tire is used for cycling in winter. We have relatively mild winters here. No idea about this
Even with winter tires snowy conditions are still dangerous. Only spikes would help I guess.
And being careful when steering and breaking too.

Egal, wie reizvoll die Herausforderung – aber es gibt nun mal Dinge, die einfach nicht zusammengehören. Wenn ich richtig informiert bin, fallen das Straßenfahrrad und die verschneite Straße exakt in jene Kategorie.
Was allerdings bestens passt, ist der mit Schnee bedeckte, wie leer geräumte Parkplatz, Fahrradbesitzer mit Lust auf jede Menge Spaß - und (nur so zur Sicherheit) der Verbandskasten mit viel Pflaster.🚲🚑

why would the tires with studs be dangerous? i thought it is intended for snowy roads?
These kind of things have to be taken care of a lot these days if we use good quality stuff then our cycle will continue to run well.
Wir haben kein Auto. Da machen Winterreifen fürs Fahrrad durchaus Sinn. Glücklicherweise gibt es hier kaum mehr Schnee und Eis, so dass man auf Spikes verzichten kann.

The weather is kind of consistent where I am at so I don't know how it is like to change tires on bikes or cars.
You have this tires because in your country, winters are very severe and harsh. In my area, it doesn't so harsh so that's why i didn't saw anyone here to replace tires.
