Home for Christmas
Me and @emuse tend to celebrate Christmas with our individual families. I was with my grandma and uncle this year while she traveled home to her parents. On the second day of Christmas i sat my ass on a boat to visit them. It's not to bad with a 2,5 hour boat ride to get there.
I arrived late in the evening so for the first day we were mostly just chilling. On the second day however we exploited the lovely weather to go out and explore this snowy winter paradise. I took this chance to do some photography and I managed to snap quite a few that I was satisfied with.
The first leg of the trip wasn't too far from the house. We followed a trail that took us up a small rise until we got to a plateau of sorts that game us an awesome view of the town. We stopped here to make a fire and eat some gingerbread and just have a good time.
It was fun trying to photograph the dancing flames. I felt like I could have taken a million pictures here and each one would be different due to the living flame. I really liked the effect the flames got with the black and white filter. Looks smoky.
We let the fire die out and decided to walk further up the path. A little ways up the path we came to a huge rock where we could look down at @emuse's childhood home which was pretty cool.
When we got to the top of the trail there was this even bigger rock that had a bunch of icicles hanging from it. I tried getting some cool shots of them and even though my iPhones auto focus were fighting me for this one I managed to get some cool ones in the end.
The view from the top had us looking over the valley and it made out a nice motive for a wintery landscape with the treeline on the mountainside.
When we got back home from this little trip we immediately went back outside to have some fun in the snow and build a snowman with @emuse's nephews. He was given a carrot nose, a scarf and a broom. Everything a snowman needs to be a good snowman.
Leftovers
That pretty much marks the end of an awesome day in this wintery paradise. I'll end the post with some leftover photos I took on the trip.
Wow, this IS a wonderland, I love snow but these days I have to be satisfied just with the photos from hive posts 😅
The snowman was so cute ☃️
Happy to be of service! I guess it doesn't snow much in Spain in general?
hahaha, you guess well, in the coastal part of Spain where I am situated, no snow... But once, I used to live at a place where winter was snowy :)
Hi there! These photos are stunning, the first one with the town it's almost unreal. Looks like awesome scenery for a modern Viking story!
Loved the dancing flames in black & white. Thank you for sharing!
P.S. The fact that you posted in the fake community cracked me up, sorry! Haha
Thanks a lot! This town really is quite special. I've been here several times but this was the first time I've seen the overhead view. I was amazed to say the least.
I got bamboozled by the fake community. So stupid lol.
hello my friend, you are enjoying the snow, unfortunately there is no snow in Serbia yet. we all look forward to the snow. You paint, send us pictures.
Yes we had quite a good time in the snow. I hope you get your snowfall soon!
Hei nydelige bilder spesialt av flammen . Hvor er dette? God romjul.og godt nyttår!! hilser fra vestfold.
Hei! Takk for fine ord. Dette er i Sunnfjord! God jul og godt nyttår!
What an absolutely idyllic winter wonderland! That must be both very cold and very awesome to be at.
And a very striking snowman, too.
Yep, cold and awesome is the perfect description for this place. Gotta layer yourself up!
I am really in love with your photos, the scenery is beautiful. Where I live there is no snow and I have only traveled to another place in my country where there is only once when I was a little girl, that's why I think the snow amazes me so much. very nice post!
Thank you! I hope you get to visit a place with a lot of snow one day. Just be prepared to freeze your legs off in the process.
This is freaking gorgeous bro. That town looks so cool. We have yet to see our first snowfall of the year yet. I look forward to it, but doubt we will get anything as major as what you've shown here.
The landscape around this town really helps with making the snowfall beautiful. It's nowhere near as nice in the city where we live. It ends up mostly mushy and dark from exhaust. Let's hope we can get to see some snow shoots from you soon!
It's landscapes such as this one that remind me that it's okay to have freezing cold temperatures rather than summer weather all year round.
Awesome shots. Too bad you posted it in the fake Photography Lovers Community. lol
