Greetings my beautiful people of hive, Adjusting to the needs I participate in this great contest by @ocd which consists of talking about a typical dish of our country, in this community of #FoodiesBeeHive, I share with you a favorite food of my country Venezuela. Rice, lentils and chicken.
Lentils:
Lentils are rich in folic acid, iron, potassium and magnesium. Folic acid and iron are important to prevent anemia, and are particularly important in pregnant women. Potassium and magnesium are essential for nervous system and muscle functions.
Ingredientes:
- Lentejas
- Pollo
- Arroz blanco
- Verduras

1-) Cortamos el pollo en piezas pequeñas para rápida cocción. Luego le agrego sal, ajo lo paso por clara de huevo y harina de trigo.
1-) We cut the chicken into small pieces for quick cooking. Then I add salt, garlic, egg white and wheat flour.
2-) Picamos en trozos menudos el ajo, la cebolla, el pimiento verde. Calentamos un poco de aceite en una cacerola, añadimos las verduras y sofreímos a fuego bajo durante cinco minutos. añadimos las lentejas y cocemos un par de minutos. Cubrimos con abundante agua fría y cocemos (mejor tapadas) durante 40-50 minutos o hasta que estén.
2-) Chop the garlic, onion and green bell pepper into small pieces. Heat a little oil in a saucepan, add the vegetables and sauté over low heat for five minutes. add the lentils and cook for a couple of minutes. Cover with plenty of cold water and cook (best covered) for 40-50 minutes or until done.
