Hello everyone! My family and I went to a seafood restaurant recently. This was on the way back after the trip to Penang, Malaysia, with a rest day in Sitiawan. This restaurant was on the way back home in Kuala Lumpur so we had our lunch here. Since it was weekend there was some crowd. The tables were almost all full. However we managed to get a place.
This is the name of the restaurant. It is called the Riverview Seafood Restaurant. It's located in Pasir Penambang, Kuala Selangor, Malaysia.
This is the front counter. They have listed some of the fresh beverages offered. There are more in the menu. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the decorations although Deepavali festival is over.
These are more decorations hung on top. There was another at the entrance but I missed that and didn't take picture of it. They were all simple but I'm glad to see a pop of colour in the restaurant.
That's actually another restaurant. So basically it's the competitor of this restaurant. As we drive along the river we can see more restaurants around. They're mostly built over the river. The boat you see here is a fishing boat that fishermen use to get a catch. We can see a boat going every ten minutes or so.
The view is the river. We can also see eagles flying around in the sky. Sometimes they get close too. There are also storks and other birds flying around. The come to eat fish from the river.
We ordered Chinese tea with pot and ice cubes. The tea is very hot and there was a time the glass accidentally broke due to how hot the drink was. So we aways get some ice cubes as well.
I noticed this time they changed the glass into something thats more suitable for hot beverages.
You can choose not to get the ice cubes but it's always best to get them as you won't be able to drink the tea for a while and it takes a long time for it to cool down.
I always play the cupbearer (GOT) so I poured the tea for everyone. I added about 4 ice cubes for everyone and they melted within a few seconds.
This is the fried rice. Fried rice here always comes with seafood so even in the basic version there are prawns. There was more actually but my father has already dug into it which is why a portion is missing.
This is the mandatory garlic and chilli dipped in soy sauce. I don't eat the chilli much but I love the garlic so much. I always start eating little amounts of then while waiting for the main course to arrive.
These are salted egg prawns. There were more but my family has already dug into them. We were actually hungry due to long journey and it was lunch time.
So this is my lunch. A plate of fried rice and prawn. I did add more rice and prawns later on.
The meal was yummy and satisfying although it was lighter than what we eat here usually. After eating, I took more pictures of the restaurant. This is a beautiful wall mural artwork. Customers can take pictures here as it is about the location too which js a fishing town.
These are some cute little items being sold. There were handmade jewelry like earrings and bracelets, little souvenirs and crafting items like decorative washi tapes as well.
Currently it is season of female mud crabs so they have put that up on a board. This restaurant special meal is mudcrab so they are further emphasizing on that point too.
It was a yummy, decent meal. Perhaps we could have had more items if we had the time. Unfortunately it was already raining when we reached the restaurant and we had to rush a little so we can get back home before the roads start getting jammed.
I think I have updated this post 4 times now due to my carelessness. I'm actually not well with a running nose and due to dizziness I'm not focused well. I hope there are no more errors.Thank you for dropping by and I wish you have a wonderful day ahead.
