Eating with a Friend Beside Her Succulent Garden

Add a heading.jpg

Everyone has varying amounts of spare time and different activities; some people enjoy reading books, watching television, doing chores, gardening, or jogging...I enjoy gardening and getting together with my pals. And today's post is about one of my favorite interests in my spare time: eating our favorite foods in my friend's gorgeous garden. Perhaps there will be more things to do in my free time in cities, but I live in a tiny province of Vietnam, so it will narrow down the things that I enjoy doing in my spare time, but I love living here since it is peaceful and not noisy like cities.

It's a gorgeous afternoon, and the weather is perfect, neither hot nor chilly. The sun is ready to set, leaving some of the day's remaining rays. The latter rays of the day are not as severe as those at midday, but they do provide relaxing and comforting warmth. It's regrettable that can't get out and enjoy this weather. I called my friend to see whether she was at home. I rode to her house after she said yes.

My friend has a lovely tiny house with an equally lovely yard. Her yard is filled with various flora. Her succulent plants are among them. My friend adores succulents and has a large collection. Her succulent plants are properly cared for, and each plant is vibrant with vitality.

We found a spot next to the succulent plants to have some lunch and watch the sunset. We ordered fried snails and barbeque skewers, two of the dishes we like to eat when we get together. Fried snails and barbeque skewers are also popular Vietnamese street foods. We like them because they are excellent but inexpensive.

The snails were very fresh, and they were blended with green bananas, carrots, and coconut to produce a very unique taste. The snails are taken out of their shells with a bamboo toothpick and dipped in a flavorful ginger dipping sauce. The barbecue skewers are constructed of pork and are marinated with spices before being cooked till golden.

We ate and spoke until it was dark. Meetings like this help me feel less stressed and more energized. Then I kissed her goodbye and thanked her for today's meal.

I enjoy such gatherings since they are simple but meaningful to me; how about you? What types of gatherings do you enjoy? Please let me know by leaving a comment below!
