POOL VILLA + FAMILY HOME-COOKED MEAL

Ayooo! Been a while since my last family trip. This time we decided to come to Pattaya (yes, where I live actually) but we rented a place instead of packing everybody in the condo unit I'm renting (which is impossible to do so anyways #lol). It's 16 of us in total. You know, travel family style!

A pool villa in Pattaya Thailand.

My cousins were the one looking for a place and didn't even know AirBnB exists or not familiar one or the other. A pool villa with a spacious hang out area would be ideal. One spot to cook and eat, one spot to play card and create our own family casino #oyyy I'm not involved really. Here sitting in front of my screen cripply for weeks/months now.

The price he found was really 10,000 THB or nearly that. It's quite pricey for a night in Thailand even with this good looking of a place so I started looking on AirBnB. It didn't disappoint. I found this one nice looking place, all white, minimal and modern built like a u-shapes with 6 rooms surrounding a swimming pool. I like the kitchen so much!!!

This great looking house for the price of 5,000 THB a night so half the price cheaper so we decided to go with this one.

So my recommendation to find a short term or mid-term stay (like a few months) in Pattaya, Thailand, AirBnB would be a good choice. It's homey and affordable. Gotta read comments really thoroughly though. This one looks good and we love it and all though in term of cleanliness, totally could be better!

Family style home cooked meal

As mentioned before it's 16 of us travelling. Going to a restaurant sounds fun but eating out every single meal wouldn't be so possible +plus, my aunties used to own a restaurant so... we cook! I actually prefer that. It's like all the unlimited food we know it's always top quality and clean.

Grilled pork jaw is probably one of that best ones to go along with all kinds of meals. My aunt marinaded the meat since last week so, it's a whole week long of soaking in that sauce. Super tender, super juicy. A little salty, a little sweet.. that Asian hint you know what I mean.

Somtam or Green papaya salad is our go-to. It's spicy salad that got that crunch to it. Real crunch. Tangy taste with the fermented fish sauce most foreigners are not really into.

Laab, minted meat (for this meal it's pork), some pork skin, spices and herb. The secret ingredient for this one is ground roasted rice that gives the dish such an aroma.

Then, with some beers and music, it was really a great dinner!

not fixed. I can't walk without crutches yet :/ thanks for asking!

Oh... so you need 4 months more 🥴🥴 .. and you be ok then 👌👌🍷🍻

The pool villa look awesome I'm so jealous 😍

Heee it was fun!!

Omg somtam is soooooooo good, you really got me craving it now. 😭 I always have fish sauce in my pantry, but finding green papaya is a bit harder here though.

oyyy I wouldn't think you'd like somtam. It's so strong for most foreigners :D My fav of all time! :D

I think it’s the complex umami taste and the textures in the salad that makes it super addictive to me and I actually have many friends (as white and Finnish as I am) who love somtam!
