Hello Hive!!!
It's a cold and rainy day, isn't it? When the weather is like this, we often love to eat. Today, I'm gonna make delicious and nutritious food that we can share with our family. This is still my mother's favorite meal to prepare before.
Bangus (Milkfish)is the fish that is usually displayed in the market especially if the weather is not good because they are cultured and cared for in a Fish Pen. Fishermen are not going to the seashore to catch fish if the weather is not in good condition. Fish Vendors made a call to their supplier and so those who have Fish pens are going to harvest their cultured Bangus(Milkfish) and deliver it to the market.
This Bangus is newly harvested and it costs PHP 170 per kilo or approximately 3 USD. Make sure and see to it that you will choose fresh Bangus.
These are the ingredients of Inihaw na Bangus
One Kilo of Bangus Fish
4 pcs. Tomatoes
3 pcs. Red Onions
2-3 medium size Spring Onions
3-4 cloves of Garlic
3 pcs. Sword Pepper
2-3 tablespoons of Salt
2 bags of Charcoal
1 Banana Leaf
Here's how to prepare the Inihaw na Bangus but before that make sure that you've properly washed your hands.
Step 1.
Cleaned the Fish and get the intestines and other internal organs. Make a slice of the upper portion of the fish.
Step 2.
Sliced the tomatoes into desired sizes. The more tomatoes you'll mix the yummier!!! Then the red onions and spring onions should be sliced also into small pieces. Afterward minced the garlic.
Step 3.
Sword Pepper needed to be cut or sliced into smaller pieces too.
The ingredients are all set and after this, mix all the spices.
Step 4.
Put the mixed spices inside the fish. Let the spices cover the space inside, the more spices to put the better. Finished the remaining fish, repeat the process.
Step 5.
Next, get a banana leaf and put the fish on it and roll it after.
Step 6.
Tie it with the string of the banana leaf and locked.
Step 7.
Prepare the charcoal and other needed materials
Step 8.
If the charcoal is ready, put the rolled fish for the grilling process.
Step 9.
Let one side first cook and be sure that the banana leaf turned into black, meaning the heat is absorbed by the fish, afterwards the other side, just repeat the process.
Step 10.
If all side of the banana leaf turns black it means our Inihaw na Bangus is cooked and now ready to be served. I'm so excited 😋.
Step 11.
Peel off the banana leaf and let the charcoal leaf out from the fish.
This Inihaw na Bangus is more delicious if we are going to match it with a sauce. And These are the ingredients for our sauce.
1.1-2 Tomatoes
2.1 Red onions
3.1 medium size spring onions
4.2 or 3 tablespoons Soy sauce
5.2-3 lemon
6.Chili ( if you wanted to have a spicy sauce)
To prepare the Sauce, just follow the steps.
Step 1.
Slice all the spices into small pieces put them into a bowl and mix.
Step 2.
Add the soy sauce to the mixed spices and stir them thoroughly. Slice the lemon and add its juice to have a litte sour to our sauce.
Step 3.
Add the chili(optional) if you want to have spicy sauce. Usually, I don't add chili if my kids will joining us eating.
Our sauce is now ready!!!
It's time to serve and eat our Inihaw na Bangus with the yummy sauce.
