Hello friends, happy day, afternoon or evening depending on the time you are reading.
I would like to share in this opportunity a sweet and quite traditional recipe here in Venezuela. It is the coconut kisses.

Quisiera compartir en esta oportunidad una receta dulce y bastante tradicional acá en Venezuela. Se trata de los besos de coco .

How delicious when they are sweet with the raw sugar cane lumps !
Here at home we have two coconut trees and that is where I got these coconuts to make this delicious snack.
There is a yellow coconut tree which usually has a smaller fruit and the green coconut tree which has a bigger fruit and also a bigger tree.
In this opportunity the ones I used are from the green coconut tree. The yellow coconut tree does not have them, because we already use them.

Que rico cuando quedan bien dulces con la panela!! Acá en la casa tenemos dos árboles de coco y es de ahí que saqué estos cocos para la elaboración de esta rica merienda.
Hay un árbol de coco amarillo que por lo general su fruto es más pequeño y el árbol de coco verde que es más grande su fruto y también el árbol.
En esta oportunidad los que usé son del árbol de coco verde. El de coco amarillo no tiene, porque ya los usamos.

The ingredients I used

3 - Coconuts.
3- Cups of Wheat Flour.
1 - Raw sugar cane lumps (panela).
1 - Cup of Sugar.
250 - Grams of Butter.
2 - Eggs.
1 - Cup of Milk.
Essences: Clove, Sweet Aniseed, Lemon Zest.

Los ingredientes que usé

3 - Cocos.
3- Tazas de Harina de Trigo.
1 - Panela (papelón).
1 - Taza de Azúcar.
250 - Gramos de Mantequilla.
2 - Huevos.
1 - Taza de Leche
Esencias: Clavo de Olor, Anís Dulce, Ralladura de Limón.

We start the preparation

We begin by removing the shell of the coconut, both the hard and the soft, and grate it.
We are going to dilute the panela by cooking it in a glass of water and there we will add the essences.
I added cloves and sweet anise, but these essences are optional, you can add the ones you prefer. After the panela is dissolved, set aside to cool and strain.

Meanwhile, we prepare the mixture as we would make a cake, we mix the butter with the sugar and mix until it is very creamy, then we add the eggs and continue mixing, then we add the sifted flour.
Once it begins to thicken, we alternate the syrup of paprika and flour.
Finally we add the coconut that we have previously grated, this mixture should be thick for the individual coconut kisses.
But as you saw in the initial photo I also made a cake. To this mixture I added the cup of milk to make it more liquid and it was only to this portion of the cake mixture that I added lemon zest.
Next, flour a cake pan and bake it in the oven for 45 minutes at 180°.
You must be careful because the individual coconut kisses take less time in the oven because they are smaller than the cake.

Comenzamos la preparación

Comenzamos por quitarle la cáscara al coco, las dos tanto la dura como la blanda, y lo rallamos.
El papelón o panela lo vamos a diluir cocinándolo en un vaso de agua y allí agregaremos las esencias.
Yo le coloque clavo de olor y anís dulce, pero estás esencias son opcionales puedes colocarle las de tu preferencia. Luego que se disuelva la panela reservamos para que enfríe y poder colar.

Mientras, preparamos la mezcla tal como fuésemos hacer una torta, unimos la mantequilla con el azúcar y mezclamos hasta que esté bien cremosa, luego agregamos los huevos y seguimos mezclando, a continuación vamos agregando la harina cernida.
Una vez que comience a espesar vamos alternando almíbar de papelón y harina.
Por último agregamos el coco que tenemos previamente rallado, está mezcla debe estar espesa para los besos de coco individuales.
Pero como vieron en la foto inicial también hice una torta. A esta mezcla le agregue la taza de leche para que estuviese más líquida y fue únicamente a esta porción de mezcla para la torta que le agregué ralladura de limón.
Paso seguido enharinamos un molde para torta la vertemos y llevamos al horno por 45 minuto a 180°
Debes estar pendiente pues los besos de coco individuales llevan menos tiempo en el horno por ser más pequeños que la torta.
