Hello, chefs! π
The festive season has begun with Christmas, and we'll be here in this mood for the rest of the year. With everything else going on, we eat and drink more food (than necessary).
But this year there was nothing special going on for Christmas. All celebrations have been put on hold because of the pandemic. Usually, we went out for a walk, had a glass of mulled wine, chatted with friends, and then went home.
This year has been real misery. The weather too. Instead of snow, it was rain and mud, so we stayed at home.
It is a habit in our house to prepare something special for Christmas Eve dinner, but my wife and I did not have any particular wish or desire for such a thing. Just the usual evening snack, staring at the TV and phones. But we decided to prepare a little better lunch today.
Actually, my wife did that and started cooking :) π
I was more walking around, commenting, and thinking about the New Year card I'm going to send.
When it was all done, I set the table for lunch.
First comes the soup. It's kind of traditional to have soup on Sundays and holidays. A strong beef and rooster soup. Meat from local home production.
And then there's everything else.
- Chops, roasted with potatoes, pumpkin, and sweet fennel,
- Fried cannelloni stuffed with cheese and cooked ham,
- Broccoli sautΓ©ed with breadcrumbs and butter,
- Radicchio with cooked beans and garlic.
The plate was immediately filled with everything, almost too small for everything that will have to be eaten.
A glass of good wine, homemade RefoΕ‘ko, should not be missing.
Yum, yum, very tasty.
There was so much that even Atos was not deprived. π π©
