Good Day my dear Hive friends,
Today I am coming out with one of my favourites, known as kadala .
This can be prepared in various ways. Today I have chosen to make a tasty curry out of this.Hope you all will like it.
Ingredients
200 gr chickpeas (Kadala)
1/4 B. Onion chopped
1 green chilli chopped
20 nos of curry leaves
3 pieces pandon leaves
3/4 tea spoon curry powder
1/4 tea spoon turmeric
4 nos dry chillies cut into pieces
1 tea spoon salt
200 ml thin coconut milk
100 ml thick coconut milk
2 table spoons of oil
Method
First wash the chickpeas well and put in a bowl and add water to cover the chickpeas the previous evening. The following morning wash the chickpeas again put in to a pan and add half tea spoon salt cover it with water and boil it well.I use the pressure cooker to boil it well.
When the chickpeas is ready take it down and strain the water and put it to a pan.( If you are using the pressure make sure you release the steam and open the lid.)
Add B.Onion, green chillies, 10 nos of curry leaves and pandon leaves.
Now add curry powder, tumaric powder and balance salt.
Then add thin coconut milk and mix it well. Close it and keep it on the fire.
When the gravy is reduced add thick coconut milk and mix it well.
I like to give you a cooking tip, when you are cooking the chickpea curry take about 10 boiled chickpeas press and smash it well as shown in the picture.
Now add the smashed chickpeas in the curry. You do this to make the curry thick.
When the cooking is over take it down and transfer to a another bowl.
Add oil to the previous pan and keep it on fire. When the oil is heating add pieces of dry chillies and curry leaves. Mix it well.
Finally add the chickpeas in to the pan with curry leaves and chilli pieces and mix well.
Hi folks, now it is ready to taste.
