Tea in the evening is a must for us. We usually take at least two cups of tea daily, just like the coffee for the rest of the world.

I prefer milk tea but can't say no to the lemon tea. And when it comes to a family hangout, tea is a must.

A few days ago, when my favorite aunt came to visit me; well to take care of of some of her business work, but she stayed two nights at my place. I was excited and couldn't resist letting her enjoy some of our local street food.

Fuchka is one of the popular street foods in Dhaka. Whenever someone comes to visit the capital, they usually try this. And my stunt was not an exception either. They say Dhaka makes the best Fuchka!

There's a small food court nearby where they usually serve popular street food like momo, pizza, fuchka, etc. We took a seat in one of the shops and had some spicy fuchka.

As you can see, it was full of green chili and spices. They provided mint - coriander and tamarind sauce with the plate. It was fabulous.

One plate of fuchka costs only $.50. That's a good deal right there.

Then comes our lemon tea. It was full of flavors of lemon, tea, ginger, and black cumin. Loved the smell.

The milk tea was also good with a flavor of ginger. But I would give a little high point to the lemon tea, taste-wise.

Three cups of tea cost us another $.50. So we had an evening out under $2. Isn't that great?

These are not any fancy places as you can see. But their food was great. They only charge for the food probably, not the service or anything otherwise their food will cost similar to the restaurant. But that doesn't mean their service is bad. Rather they are more hospitable and friendly. If you know what I mean.

It was a nice evening hangout. We chatted, had some snacks, and enjoyed the vibe. The weather was too humid and we had to come back home for comfort too early though.
But the Fuchka and Tea will remain in our gossip for the next few times for sure.

Sort:

Fuchka is my favourite since childhood. I can remember that in that time I want to market with my mother only to taste it. I want to taste it all the time but I can't take it because I need to be health conscious also.

Well, fuchka is closest to every Bangladeshi's heart, I believe.
You can still enjoy it occasionally though.

They all appeared foreign to me but I also salivated scrolling 😅.
You guys really had a fun time👌

I know, right?
They are delicious 😋
