Omelette is a food that the world admires. I have not met a single person who said "I don't like eating an omelette.
Every country or more suitably local cuisines have different combinations with the omelette.
This combination includes puffed rice or popped rice and omelette with raw onions.
What is MUDI??
Mudi is the Bengali name for puffed rice. In India only, because of its diversified nature, it is known by so many names, such as - murmura, bhel, lei, mamra etc. It can be classified under southeast cuisine.
Just like corns are popped up and made popcorn. Similarly, mudi comes from rice. The only difference is for popping the popcorn one needs oil or lard.
Traditionally mudi is popped up on the sand. Sand is first heated on any utensil and once it reaches the desired temperature rice is added gradually and they start popping up. And the whole process is repeated again and again.
As puffed rice is rich in fiber and complex carbohydrates it keeps your hunger at a bay and thus helps you in your weight loss process. It also helps people who face constipation problems because of the fiber content. It does boost your immunity and all thanks to the antioxidant, minerals, and nutrient content.
Another amazing effect I also didn't know and came across while researching for this article is that it strengthens the bones too due to its richness in calcium, iron, and vitamin D it promotes proper bone cell growth and regeneration.
RAW ONIONS
Eating raw onions along with your food is an old habit that still exists in South Asian culture.
In metropolitan cities, people do skip this because it leads to bad breath afterwards. But after reading the benefits one will try not to skip it in any of the meals.
All vegetables and fruits are healthy but among those Onions is a nutrient-dense food. That simply means they are low in calories and high in vitamins and minerals. It is particularly high in Vitamin C, which not only acts as an antioxidant but also helps in tissue repair, gut health, collagen production and helps our body in iron absorption.
Onions are also rich in Vitamin-B, which plays a key role in metabolism, nerve function, and red blood cell production. It contains cancer-fighting compounds too.
And lastly, it is high in potassium, a mineral which lacks in the majority of people nowadays.
