This is my first time posting in Foodies Bee Hive. I don't particularly go outside due to the pandemic and the "Habagat" or the Southeast Monsoon happening here in the Philippines. Me and my friends did it in a whim because it is almost a year and a half that we didn't see each other. That's me wearing the grey long-sleeves. I'm looking like a Chug-jug because of the pandemic weight. Maybe when the pandemic is over I'll try to exercise more hehehe.
Samgyeopsal, What is it?
We filipinos are easily influenced by other cultures. The latest hype here in the Philippines is the Korean Culture. Food, clothing, brand, and especially music. Kpop is wide spread here in the Philippines. Even I bop sometimes to that genre of music. They are just so catchy sometimes. My favorite Kpop group is TWICE mainly because they are composed of cute girls but there song is aight, me and my friends bop to it sometimes because its that catchy and good. Ok! Lets get back to the main topic...korean food or in this case Samgyeopsal.
Based on a quick google search Wikipedia define 'Samgyeopsal' as a Korean dish served as an evening meal. It is cooked at the diner table using a table grill. It is consists of thick, fatty slices of pork belly meat and served with vegetables, lettuce wraps, and 'ssamjang'. The way you eat it is to wrap the cooked meat. You can dip it to ssamjang or use a spoon to put it inside.
The host (my classmate and friend) also made coffee jelly. Sadly, I didn't get any because I need to go do some errand and need to leave early. By the looks of it it looks delicious af. The bitterness of the coffee and the sweetness of milk is a good combination. Just writing about it makes my mouth watery. I WANT COFFEE JELLY!!!
I want the pandemic to end so that I can go in an adventure and eat different stuffs. Don't get me wrong I like homemade foods like sinigang and adobo... I just want fast food😁
