Snacks or heavy meals always bring new stories to the dining table, and this fish dish, tilapia meatballs, is no exception. Chewy, soft with an authentic flavor, I enjoy them at home.

This time I will invite you to prepare one of the special recipes made from tilapia that I took at the fish farm where I work. There yesterday we harvested the fish and I took some fish to make meatballs at home. I have previously made fish meatballs, using milkfish and it was a very long time ago that I made them during course practice on campus. It was fun to be able to finish the fish balls at that time, now because I was curious to try processed meatballs from freshwater fish, I also tried to rush to make it at home with my version.

Now there is something that must be considered to produce super meatballs and have a good taste that is certainly not fishy. A lot of people assume that freshwater fish is often more fishy than saltwater fish. Therefore, we can pay attention to the first process when treating the dahmging fish in the early stages. I often marinate the fish first with lemon or lime juice or vinegar and stir in some ginger. It is enough to affect the flavor of the fish meat which is fresh and certainly far from fishy.

Ingredients Needed

I'm so happy that my first tilapia meatball experiment was a success, the meatballs were chewy soft and not fishy at all. I didn't enjoy the meatballs with the gravy but rather enjoyed them with the sauce, and added a little chili powder and seaweed on top. This is so that I can enjoy it quickly and the meatballs are also very good to enjoy with preparations like this.

The taste is very savory, the aroma of tilapia meat does not smell even the aroma is like making this preparation from chicken meat. It's great to be able to try again making fish meatballs at home.

Amazing! This must be so delicious, I bet making them with freshly harvested fish adds extra flavor! 😊

Yeah, fresh fish harvested directly in the pond is fresher and sweeter.

Meatballs are very common here in Venezuela and are usually made of ground meat, these are appetizing and should be tasty.

That's right, meatballs are often made with ground beef, but fish is also very tasty and has the right flavor.

I am going to show in Cumaná, which is a city in front of the Caribbean Sea, this novelty, fish meatballs and everyone will like it, that's why I say that Hive offers us a lot of creativity. Success and thank you for these in constant visits.

wow so glad to hear that you are going to make it with fish in your country. Show me if you can do it!

You welcome ✨

It is very important to marinate it before, and even more so with tilapia, which has a more pronounced flavor, so we eliminate a little of the flavor. I loved this recipe, it looks very good.

Yeah marinating with ginger and lime juice gives the fish a freshness that is most important as there is no fishy smell at all.

Wow, it looks really delicious, especially if you add peanut sauce, it will definitely be even more tempting

usually if enjoyed with peanut sauce siomay. very delicious indeed!

Yes, that's right, I really like it.
