I hope you are all doing great today.
Today is our schedule on preparing the kids meal.I belong to the Thursday parent schedule.So this morning I brought some firewood since we are using a firewood on preparing their food.
I am happy for this government project honestly ,I am happy for my son who don't eat his breakfast before going to school but he can have his breakfast during their recess time as government gave this to them.We,the parents are happy coz our kids can eat free food at the same time we can save money for their snacks.
So for today's blog ,I will be sharing the sweet porridge we prepare for our kids.Its a good timing since we are having a rainy cold Thursday morning.
Anyway porridge is our alternative food whenever we are running out of food stocks back when I was a child .
*The ingredients
-1kilo of sticky rice
-3cans of sweet corn
-4cups of condensed milk
-sugar
-salt
-and water
*Procedure *
Wash the sticky rice with a clean water.Anyway we will be preparing this food to 29 kids.
In a big pot we boiled water and added the sticky rice .
This is our kitchen located at the back part of the daycare center in our Barangay.
When the sticky rice is already cooked ,maybe it only needs 30 minutes to boiled and it will cook.
When it cooked ,add the sweetcorn in can.
Then add the condensed milk.
We added 1/4 of sugar and a half teaspoon of salt to balance the taste.
Continue stirring it until it will having a sticky mixture.
Then you can serve it.
And since it's not yet their break time ,we still preparing it on their cup to make it cold when they will eat it .
Around 9 when the kids finished their activity ,we serve the food to them.
Because of attending our kids worrying coz it's still hot ,I was our of mind on taking some photos to them haha.
My son really likes it and it keeps saying" hmmm it's yummy" hahha.
He does'nt like to eat a porridge even when he is still a baby but glad to see him like enjoy the porridge we prepare for them.
I able to bring some of the kids left over to our house as well as the other parents too.

I see making it with firewood feels very traditional. The aroma of charcoal makes it taste very good, the aroma will add to the taste.
