Once again we went to the beach and this time we stayed until dinner. At home it is much too warm anyway and that's why we thought we should eat outside. But since we also wanted to have something tasty that evening, we just improvised and took the kitchen down to the beach. You can cook something almost anywhere and that's exactly what we did.

A cooking place was built quickly, the experience of the last two years helped me quite a bit. But this time we did not intend to prepare something directly over and in the fire, on a short notice we decided to go for Yakisoba, a Japanese stir-fry noodle dish. And for this we just brought an almost discarded frying pan, which should serve us well.

Since there is enough wood lying around on the beach, we quickly found enough fuel and lit a small fire. And on that I wanted to prepare us now something delicious, using the ingredients I had brought with me.

We were actually quite well prepared and after it got hot enough underneath the frying pan, we were ready to go. First we fried some meat, which in Japan is often sold already pre-cut into thin strips. Very convenient as it's easier to portion and to use while cooking.

I was getting hotter too, on a day when it was actually already hot enough. But that's how it always is when cooking over an open fire in the summer, with no exception, the cook is guaranteed to break a sweat. Of course, you couldn't do anything without gloves if you didn't want to burn your fingers. Fortunately, I was able to cool off later in the sea, so there was no risk of missing out on some fun.

But on to the cooking. We had already prepared some stuffe at home and thanks to hardworking hands the vegetables we wanted to use were already cut into the right size. Next we could just add the cabbage and carrots, which were now in the pan simmering together with the meat.

When the vegetables were soft, I then added the noodles and an extra spice mix that gave it just the right touch. We had to wait a few more minutes and then finally everything and everyone was ready to eat. We hadalready build up quite some appetite and luckily we also had a few rice balls with us to satisfy the biggest hunger. Especially the littles ones were really eager to start eating. In the end, everything had taken a bit too long again, it's just too exciting on the beach to really keep to your schedule here.

But now we could start and whether it was because of the location or the food, everyone enjoyed the meal and nothing was left over. Swimmung quickly builds up an appetite and out here in the fresh air, it always tastes best. Blessed with the best mood and in the best company, so that we actually did not want to go home after eating. But the sun had already set and as a farewell we could enjoy a wonderful evening sky.

I can never get enough of sunsets either, so I'm already hoping for a soon repeat of our beach cookout. I'm not sure yet what we'll have to eat then, but I already know that we'll have a lot of fun again. And that's why I can't wait for our next appearance on the beach....
