RE: Limburgs zuurvlees recipe ~ a Dutch meat dish with fries 🇳🇱

That’s a long time already @whywhy 😁
Spanish is just hard to learn. I understand 98% of it, just the talking back is hard… I do manage to get along, even the paperwork. My pronunciation isn’t great hahaha but maybe because I lived in 5 countries so far.

Great area around Granada, visited it a few times.
Cádiz is just cute and the places around it. So different than the costa del sol. More open and less tourists.
Marbella isn’t my “thing” to much pretentious hahaha

Sort:

That´s exactly why I have not been to Marbella but my dad has a time share over there but is getting to old to go himself so I might go there. Understanding and surviving indeed I mastered but talking....I just lack the practice working in a global company and having a Dutch partner....but I manage.

How long have you been in Spain?

We think alike then hahaha
Yes, hard not working in a Spanish place and having a Dutch partner. I know…

I have been in Spain since 2015 but end of 2019 I moved and lived a year in Malta, came back in august 2020. Right in the pandemic. Was relocation for work. But we couldn’t get used to Malta. So moved back and switched jobs.

My hubby is British and we have been together almost 6 years. So I’m talking English at home. No Spanish there. And work also not Spanish.
I so understand it is much harder when you are not delved right into it.

My hubby works in Gibraltar and is here since 15 years, but working with English speaking colleagues. He never picked up Spanish. And doesn’t understand it either.

15 Years and doing worse than me you just made me feel good about myself, well actually he did.

Malta, nah I don't feel attracted to it, Andalusia is great although I am still not sure if I will always stay here. I would not mind living in a country with a similar climate where they speak a bit more English

There you go… see your not that bad at Spanish than 🤣😁😉
We are about to move again. Hopefully before the year ends. Again a relocation with work. Now we switch continents. If all goes well we go to the US east coast. 🤞🏻 Lots of back logs and the pandemic slowed things down, so it takes a little while. But we are patient. If that doesn’t happen for whatever reason we will leave Spain. Think we outgrew it. Hubby and me. It is changing we both think. Also the summers and winters are getting more extreme.
We do miss seasons… we are going to proper 4 seasons where it also snows ☃️
Why not… spice up our lives a bit more now we still can. Country 6 here I come hahaha 🤣
One day… hopefully soon.

After moved more than 30 times in my live (I lost count but should count it one day) I haven’t grown roots anywhere, so I can switch without problem, country or just place. Hubby hasn’t moved anywhere close to 10 times, but he likes adventures too.

What country are you thinking of? If you would move out…

Same here ever since I left the home I grew up in I have been moving around. But more different houses and cities than countries. IDK I like Latin America a lot, but well the Spanish again. De Antillen maybe, US maybe, Filipines/Indonesia if things normalize a bit.

But indeed Spain is changing not as bad as NL but changing and not for the better but I am still okay with the weather here. And we have 4 estaciones Summer, Winter, Estacion de Tren and Estacion de autobus 😋

Hahaha estaciones hahaha yep, there are 4 LOL 😂

I moved with my parents as much. 3 countries with them alone, moved out of home when I was 16 years. The Netherlands was country #3 since I was 6 for 28 years. My father was Dutch.

That’s great to hear we are not the only ones that think that. Cool 😎 funny I do hear it more and more. Also friends of us that have been here for 25 years think the same. They are selling up and move back to the UK.
I wouldn’t go back to Dutchie land… nope, to much other countries I would go to first. Crazy that countries (Netherlands and Spain) can change so much lately. And I’m sure it is not us. Hahaha

Yes, Latin America is great. Some artist friends moved to Costa Rica, first they were thinking Spain but choose eventually not to.
You know what the thing is with Spanish there… it is easier. They talk slower and you can understand the entire words better. Did you know?

I haven’t been to the Antilles yet, but we would like to visit just to see and feel how they are. As they have great weather. And English and Dutch.
