RE: Caramelized Fig, Feta, and Biltong Pasta: A Quick Lunch Recipe

It was a lot in 10 days… hahaha
I can imagine, it would be crazy for you to do the same I did.
It is so different.

Yes, you can’t just walk across a road when you want. If police is in the area you are fined.

We did, enjoyed it all… even the rain hahaha
Thank you so much.
Tomorrow back to car hunting… 🚘🚘🚘
Have a wonderful week! Soon it’s weekend 😁

Sort:

And so quickly, the weekend ended! I hope that the car hunting went well?

And that is the problem of travelling internationally, you are not always aware of these small differences in law and courtesy. Strange world though!

Here, the winter is still not done, so I travelled from a place where it was 30 degrees C to cold 12 degrees C! What a shock to the system though.

I hope the new week will be good!

Nope still no success with finding a car. We did see quite a lot… but none would fit.
Tomorrow we have another viewing, all are far away. Nothing really close by.

I so know… every country is so different with rules.

Really, wow. Must have been a shock. Keep warm… until you are acclimatised again.
Have a nice week 👋🏻😊

The weekend did not end so well, as someone stole my phone! But I am luckily not harmed, but getting everything back and running as it used to takes so much time.

Oh, that is not cool! I hope that you will find a car soon, maybe in the last week you did manage to find something?

I hope that your weather is still looking good, and not too cold. Keep well!

Oh no, I am so sorry to hear that.
I can imagine it is such a hassle. Luckily you were not harmed.

Still we haven’t found one. The state some cars are in, is just ridiculous. Front window cracked. Ticking of motor etc. it is crazy.
Today a rest day… we have the rental car again until thursday. So tomorrow maybe 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

We had our first frost days. It killed the courgette and cucumber plants… so today we clean up the veggie beds. Getting them ready for the winter.
I will hang the cherry tomatoes plants upside down in the basement and hope the fruits will ripen further. Maybe they wont as they were frozen. I will find out. A shame I lost the last produce….
The season didn’t lasted 3 months.

Oh no, I can only imagine. And cars there go through much worse than here. Cold and extreme weather situations we never experience here. Plus, as I understand from family that live that side, most cars are outside, so always exposed to the elements.

That is such a loss, I am sorry. Only 3 months? That is scary little time. We have year-round weather for produce, some summer crops some winter crops. Lucky for us! But I hope that the winter does not last longer than it should. Rest of our country is almost already into summer, and the place I live at is still battling winter weather! Not fun.

Still no luck finding another car. You are right, they are exposed to all the weather throws at them.
We will figure something out. We gave ourselves a bit more time and rented for 4 weeks a car now.

I knew we would have a short season, but less then 3 months is just to short.
So we either build a heated greenhouse or move again hahaha !LOL this also depends on the job to be honest. So anything can happen in the next months. 😊

It’s great you have so much time for produce, summer and winter crops.
I hope that soon summer starts for you too. Enjoy the change…

Here… every night we have frost. It does give some beautiful photos in the early morning.
I went to the spots I found chanterelles. Only one of them still had some. So that season is gone too now.
Have a fantastic weekend 👋🏻

Why did the farmer dress his pig in an apron?
Pretty soon he would be bacon.

Oh my, so quickly the season changed. Here as well. From being cold and rainy to extremely hot and dry in less than a week! Incredible, really. And the plants are feeling it, but also in a good way. There is so much new growth and flowers in the garden, it is amazing. And the summer seedlings are strong on their way! I cannot wait for the first harvest.

Sorry that you must sit in the cold! But as you say, luckily there is some beauty in it.

Good luck with the car-buying journey! It seems like a real hassle and problem...

Have a splendid new week!
