RE: Caramelized Fig, Feta, and Biltong Pasta: A Quick Lunch Recipe

Wow, thats truly fast.
Thats nice to hear there is so much new growth.
I can imagine… first harvest are always soooo good.

We are preparing the house for the winter now the garden is done. All the tasks inside are coming up now. We got lots of paint and wood filler and other tools and materials yesterday. So will be fun to transform it inside. Give everything a nice new bright colour of paint. Fixing things… can’t wait to start.
It will keep me warm hahaha

Thank you, much appreciated. It is a hassle here buying a car. We continue to rent for now. We took some stress off as other things are more important.
Have a wonderful week too 👋🏻😊

You are right, first harvest has something special to it. And it is amazing, in less than 5 days, my seedlings are growing so strong. We will see if the summer sun will do them good.

Oh that sounds really fun though. It sounds like the movies we always watched with the snow outside and people inside having fun, and with you, revamping the space a bit. This is a world we do not know, as the temperatures throughout the year where I live is so good, never cold enough to complain.

Good luck with the car buying when it resumes!

Good to hear your seedlings are growing well and strong. What did you seed?

I will try to photograph the renovations and post about when I finish a part.
It is almost like the movies… here… just a fireplace misses hahaha
I got bigger plans for the wooden flooring. I wanted to do just one colour. But I think the kitchen is screaming for something special. 😉

Yes, having good weather all year, does come with lots of pro’s but I know also with problems.

Have a nice day and end of the week 👋🏻

I sowed some basil seeds this morning and about a month ago I did mustard seeds. So, now I just wait and hope that everything grows as it should! I am also harvesting some rocket seeds.

Oh yes, the kitchen deserves some love, as this is (for me at least) the most important part of any home! It is where the proverbial magic happens.

Nice, I have 2 big pots of basil inside. They are doing so great. Have harvested a lot from it. Some I did freeze in before the 2 times we went abroad for 3 weeks.
Every day I have some fresh basil in the salads 🥗

It’s beautiful to watch it grow… hope all goes well with the seedlings.

Yep, for me too.
So I make sure it will look nice when I finish with the kitchen 😊

I planted some basil seeds last week, I desperately want to make some basil pesto! I am glad that you can at least grow them inside! I did not realise that they do well indoors. That is so interesting! Do you have growing lights?

Hope you manage to make some pesto 😊
In the summer months I took down the growing lights. But now as the daylight we get, gets less and less…. I have to put the lights on again. As sunset is already at 15:30h. Soon we only have light for 4 hours.
Basil does very well inside. Try it out. I have them at a north / east facing window.

All my seedlings I had to start inside under grow light as there was still snow until June.

Oh my, I might then just try to grow some indoors! The kitchen gets most of the sun throughout the day, so perfect spot to grow some basil. The smell is intoxicating when you rub them or even just brush past them.

Thank you so much! Nothing like some freshly made pesto.

Oh that is so intriguing. I remember the early sunset when I was in Sweden, it really messed with my brain, I always got hungry (as we normally ate at sunset) and I was sleepy-tired at 5 pm because my body thought it was long enough time in the dark and it wanted to sleep.
