Good evening Hivers, I wish you a happy weekend.... Today, I will share with you the exquisite lunch I prepared to share with the family. I will explain in an "easy and simple" way how to prepare a delicious "garden rice broth with smoked cutlet, bacon and capers". The magic of this dish is found in the appetizing smoky flavor that all the ingredients acquire during the cooking process and in the soft and brothy texture of the rice... Let's put on the apron!

Buenas noches Hivers, les deseo un feliz fin de semana... Hoy, compartiré con ustedes el exquisito almuerzo que preparé para compartir en familia. Les explicaré de forma "fácil y sencilla" como elaborar un delicioso "arroz caldoso a la jardinera con chuleta ahumada, tocineta y alcaparras". La magia de éste platillo la encontramos en el apetitoso sabor ahumado que adquieren todos los ingredientes durante el proceso de cocción y en la textura un suave y caldosa del arroz... Pongámonos el delantal!

  • To make this recipe I used the following ingredients: chicken breast, smoked pork chop, carrot, onion, red bell pepper, caper, coriander, bacon and 1 cup of rice.
  • Para realizar ésta receta utilicé los siguientes ingredientes: pechuga de pollo, chuleta ahumada, zanahoria, cebolla, pimiento rojo, alcaparra, cilantro, tocineta y 1 taza de arroz.

  • In the cauldron where we are going to prepare our succulent rice, we cook the chicken breast cut in cubes. Season with: garlic powder, pepper, oregano, cumin and salt. When it has browned, we reserve to use in the final step.
  • En el caldero donde vamos a preparar nuestro suculento arroz, cocinamos la pechuga de pollo cortada en cubos. Sazonamos con: ajo en polvo, pimienta, orégano, comino y sal. Cuando se haya dorado, reservamos para utilizar en el paso final.

  • In the same oil where we cooked the chicken cubes, fry the "smoked cutlet" until golden brown (reserve).
  • En el mismo aceite donde cocinamos los cubos de pollo, sofreímos la "chuleta ahumada" hasta que se dore (reservamos).

  • We sauté the onion, bell pepper and bacon...
  • Sofreímos la cebolla, el pimiento y la tocineta...

  • Add our colorful "carrot" cubes and sauté for 3 minutes.
  • Incorporamos nuestros coloridos cubos de "zanahoria", salteamos durante 3 minutos.

  • In this step: add 1 cup of rice along with 3 cups of water, in order to enjoy a brothy consistency. Add the chicken and the reserved cutlet. Add 1 teaspoon of sweet paprika (mix).
  • En éste paso: añadimos 1 taza de arroz junto con 3 tazas de agua, para así poder disfrutar de una consistencia caldosa. Colocamos el pollo y la chuleta que teníamos reservada. Agregamos 1 cucharadita de pimentón dulce (mezclamos).

  • Add the cilantro along with the capers (finely chopped). Cover and cook for 25-30 minutes or until ready.
  • Agregamos el cilantro junto con las alcaparras (finamente cortado). Tapamos y cocinamos durante 25-30 minutos o hasta comprobar que está listo.

This looks like a really tasty dish with the pork and Chicken in a moist rice! I may have to add a bit of garlic. but it looks great in your photos!

Whenever I prepare this recipe I always add a touch of garlic, you are right this ingredient gives a very tasty and delicious contrast, but this time at the request of my daughter I substituted it by seasoning the chicken with garlic powder.
