I always love random dates with my friends because I love being with them and catching up with them in person even if we do chats most of the time. Our very late Christmas dinner with my best friend/ business partner finally pushed through this year! We ended up having our belated Christmas dinner at her newest favorite Korean restaurant in the Garden Row in Cebu I.T Park which is the Yukga Korean BBQ. Yes, we both love Korean dishes but my friend Kristine doesn’t like the idea of doing the cooking of meat for herself, that’s why she introduced me here at Yukga, this place is perfect because someone will cook the meat on our behalf while we just enjoy chitchatting and eating all night.
We didn’t make any reservations because we were a bit early for dinner and got ourselves a perfect seat that is good for two. My friend ordered her favorite meal the DwaejiBulgogi Spicy Pork BBQ and two orders of their Aged Pork Belly (Samgyeopsal). This restaurant is the first in Cebu that uses a cast iron grill that prevents the meat from sticking to the pan once you start grilling it. I was amazed to see how perfectly cooked our meat was, it’s juicy and it’s not overcooked. Yukga serves unlimited side dishes like soup, radish, kimchi, pancake kimchi, egg, lettuce, and a variety of sauces.

Honestly, I usually don’t like the taste of the soup in most Korean restaurants, but here in Yukga, I was surprised to myself that I finished a bowl of it! I liked the flavor of the soup it complements my taste. I don’t eat kimchi but their pancake kimchi is a must-try, it’s really delicious and savory. For their premium age meat, I must say it’s worth it! It may not be an unlimited samgyeopsal but we were both so full and satisfied with just two orders of it. The DwaejiBulgogi was amazing, I love the spiciness of it makes me want to ask for more but well it’s not part of the side dishes.
Overall, I am pleased and satisfied with their service from the staff who cooked our meat, to the chef who prepared our Bulgogi and of course, the ambiance that is clean and organized everything is to my liking.
If you’re in a group, I would suggest reserving their VIP room that can accommodate up to 16 persons with no minimum order. They only require at least 5 people and each should order their premium meat and you will have the place for yourselves. This is a very great offer considering the current situation now that we really have to make sure we’re safe and still observing social distancing. They accept advance orders and bulk orders for all occasions just message them on their FB Page https://www.facebook.com/Yukgakoreanbbq or call them at 0917707219. The restaurant is open daily from 11:00 AM until 10:00 PM and is located at Garden Row Ayala Mall Central Bloc, IT Park, Cebu.

I heard and read many good things about Korean barbecue, but never got to chance to try it😔. I only tested Korean ramen and chicken fry, that was super delicious 😋.

Hi @jezwanderer!
This was very well written! I like that you were able to enjoy a BBQ with your friend and I'm glad that the Philippines is beginning to return to normal once again!
You know... It's been some time since I have eaten in this Korean Style BBQ! I miss this actually.
One thing I do remember is how the meat would always stick to the BBQ grill. So annoying and a real detractor to eating out at these sorts of places... BUT LOOK AT THAT! They solved this problem with the cast iron grill! 🤩
Now I want one of those... But for my waffle breakfasts! Yes! I know this isn't a meat dish... But I'm also missing my Belgium Waffle Maker! The special non-stick coating came off of it (after 2 years of using it every weekend! hahaha! 😥) and I decided that I would hold out until I had found a cast iron one that would stand the heat and the test of time!
Well there you go!
We talked about Korean BBQ AND Belgium Waffle Makers! hahaha! 😂
So hey! I noticed that the pricing in the Philippines is pretty close to what it would be here in Canada. For example: 1 water costs 40P which is $0.99 (about the same here) and the Aged Beef Striploin costs 650P which is $16.07 (also comparable here). Is this considered a standard price for eating out over there in Cebu?
Well! Thank you for this culinary adventure! You mentioned that you are a YouTuber! I'm curious about your channel now! Where can I go to find your videos @jezwanderer? AND are you on Twitter? 😊

Oh yeah I failed to mention about that cast iron grill (I forgot what's it actually called), that's one thing that impresses me too because I hate burning my meat 😊
In most restaurants here in Cebu, I must say the price is on the average so if you have a decent job then most likely you can afford to dine out.
Ohh as for my youtube channel, my content is more of my travel experience, I don't vlog about my food trips hehehe
Well, I'm just a small time youtuber hehehe but here's my yt channel link https://youtube.com/c/jezevyl
Thank you for reading my blog I really appreciate it (I'm not a good writer, but I'm trying my best 😊. Keep safe 💚!
I just hate it when it sticks to the grill knowing that I'm loosing all that goodness to the flames! A little piece of my heart dies you know! hahaha! 😅
Well! I'm hoping that one day you will be able to say... Because you blogged about your eats you were able to eat anywhere in the world! Wouldn't that be an amazing success story @jezwanderer!?
Ok! I'm looking forward to checking out your YouTube! And HEY! It's all about humble beginnings! That's how every idea starts right!?
The main thing is to just keep at it and never giveUP on your dreams.
