Hi, hiver! Travelling to Phu Quoc, in addition to sightseeing and tourist sites, the food and cuisine here should not be missed. A dish that people often talk about Phu Quoc must definitely eat once is Phu Quoc stir-fried noodles.
The first time I tried noodle soup was in Can Tho, at that time only 1 feeling was that it was bland. I don't know because the restaurant doesn't do well or I don't know how to eat anymore. Having the opportunity to go to Phu Quoc this time, I visited the famous noodle shop Kien Xay noodle soup. At first, when I heard the name, it was strange, I thought it was vermicelli and built with ants. Because in Phu Yen there is a dish of weaver ant salt, haha. Later I found out that it was not what I thought, but named Kien Xay to distinguish it, to avoid confusion with other shops. The main ingredients of Bun Quai are: Fresh fish cakes, fresh shrimp cakes, fresh squid and the option of adding beef (for guests who can't eat seafood), all fresh, delicious, and best quality
Seeing that everyone was advertising Kien Xay noodle soup, I also went to try it, it was mainly for tourists. My restaurant is located at 28 Bach Dang Street, Area 1, tt. Duong Dong, Phu Quoc, Kien Giang province. From Duong Dong market, go straight on Tran Phu street, cross the intersection of Tran Phu - Cach Mang Thang 8 about 500m, meet Gia An pharmacy, turn into the alley next to the pharmacy about 200m to arrive. Before entering the shop, look outside the car is parked all the way, there is no entrance. The shop sells in the form of orders at the counter, go to the shop to choose and pay at the counter, then the staff will give you a card when there is food, the card will vibrate, I will come to pick up the food. Vermicelli here has 3 prices for fish ball, shrimp is 35.00vnd, shrimp cake, fish cake, beef/squid is 55,000vnd and beef, squid is 65,000vnd. Because I wanted to try and save my stomach to eat other dishes, I chose the bowl of 35,000vnd.
After paying, I chose a table and made my own dipping sauce. Come here, you can rest assured because there is a table of recipes according to the ratio of the shop posted on the wall, if you have your own taste, you can mix it to your liking. 1 teaspoon salt, 2-3 almonds, if you eat spicy, add chili then stir for 2 minutes to get 1 cup of sauce. The restaurant the day I went was very crowded, waiting for about 30 minutes to have the dish. The bowl I ate had shrimp, pureed fresh fish paste, and hot broth. When eating, you must add 1/3 of the sauce when mixed and stir well so that the shrimp and fish are cooked and the broth is all flavorful, the bar is sweet and sweet, and the thin vermicelli is delicious.
The restaurant's decoration and gray tone are very impressive, self-service, homemade sauce is also very good, in terms of food, in my opinion, it is very delicious, dipping with dipping sauce is very suitable, but the water is slightly It must be cloudy because of this dish. The process of making vermicelli is 100% handmade, so you can stand and watch the sisters doing it on the spot. However, the seats are extremely hot, there is a fan, but it is like not finishing eating and sweating, the restaurant is crowded, so I also sympathize.
There are many noodle shops in Phu Quoc. However, according to research, this Kien Xay restaurant is delicious, so it is enjoyed by many people. At a glance, it's just like normal seafood vermicelli, nothing special, but the special feature here is that the food is fresh, not moist, seasoned, plus homemade dipping sauce, so the taste of the vermicelli bowl is also different.
A bowl of vermicelli may not look very eye-catching, but once enjoyed, the taste will be hard to forget. The fresh taste of the shrimp, fish or squid balls mixed with the hot broth, once eaten, is really addicting.
Thank you for reading my post unstill the end. Wish you have a great day.
Looks delicious! I love a nice soup with noodles like that! I had a Vietnamese restaurant where I grew up that served the best homemade stuff around! It was amazing!
