Above is my mama's children together with her in happier times.
We just lost Mama's baby (by the first marriage) so here is what is left

Of my daddy's children, there is now only Claudelle, me and Linda.

Claudelle is now 91.
So John had been ill for sometime, and we just lost him about a month ago

A proud Veteran of the United States Air Force, John received an associate’s degree from Fisher Junior College. He worked as an Automotive Repairman for 50 years before retiring in 1999. Throughout his extensive career, he worked for several companies including Empire Chevrolet, Bristol County Dodge and Tips Arco Gas Station.

So what do I do when I'm down?
A. I cook, and
B. I drink
Last week I used a new Sous Vide to cook an almost 3 lb bottom round: it took almost 35 hrs

at 130-140° F

The meat was delicious, tender but a little drier than I'd thought, not dry tho.
This was the meal I served to my neighbors and myself

Beets, Roast, Baby Lima beans, and gravy from the roast.
Now I'm still fighting depression as I do every year at this time.
I do not like crowded rooms, even if they are family, I don't like darking bogs, I mean Barking Dogs (or crying babies for that matter)... so I am content for now to sit at home and eat too much food and drink to much wine

At least I have my neighbors and my cats to amuse me

His Majesty Crown Prince Tommy of Assholia knows who is the king around here

And so, I hurt, I ache, I'm sad and I'm depressed, but I live on nonetheless

Thank goodness you have neighbors and cats to amuse you! The food looks great! What a wonderful pastime, to cook up a storm! I hope this season brings you more joy and peace than depression. ❤️
Thanks Ms Kitty @thekittygirl
What would we do without our crazy cats?
I deal with S.A.D. this time of year, but the days are getting longer now, and even if I can't see the difference yet, just knowing it's happening makes me feel a little bit better. I take lots of Vitamin D, but this year I didn't bother to get out the "happy light" because it didn't seem to make any difference. Cooking interesting foods seems to brighten the days, but I have never resorted to alcohol. I find things to do like jigsaw puzzles and craft projects. And I read books. I guess everyone has to find their own way to cope.
Thanks for dropping by and commenting @scribblingramma. I do appreciate it💚
Hi i'm not sure if i contacted you before about this but, you might want to check your witness votes , i saw your name voting for a witness that is no longer active . If i did contact you before about this then i'm sorry for bothering you again.
It would be helpful if you named the inactive one. I grow so tired of these proposals in Peakd and especially ecency. They say it doesn't cost ME anything to vote for something I cannot understand, but I usually relent and vote for them.
I'll check to see if I can tell which one. Thanks @stresskiller
i will show you :
it's Anyx and diyhub .
proposals is not my thing either .
I saw anyx and clicked to remove my vote, but it doesn't seem to have gone away
if i look at the website it's gone
I gave you one of my votes @stresskiller
Hey, happy holiday to you. Thinking about family also made me down but with cooking makes me better 😊
Cats are always great company, I'm glad you have yours. I have four right now and they help me feel better.
Hugs!
Thank you @sirenahippie ♥
