How To Prepare Chia Seeds Champorado

in Foodies Bee Hive4 years ago

In my previous post, I have shared the different Chia Seeds preparations that I have personally tried. And as promised, I will share the individual recipes as well.

In this post, I will share to you how to prepare Chia Seeds Champorado or better known as Chocolate Rice Porridge. Champorado is a well-known Filipino food that is made of rice added with cocoa or tablea.

Since I have mentioned that I am on a low carb diet, I haven’t consumed rice for more than 6 months already. Hence, I have to find an alternative way to enjoy the foods that I used to eat before. And through friends who are also on low carb diet, I have found food substitutes that helped me with my diet a little bit easier.

So now, I will share with you one of the healthy foods that I have been eating.

CHIA SEEDS CHAMPORADO OR CHOCOLATE RICE PORRIDGE

INGREDIENTS

2 cups water
3 tbsp chia seeds
3 tbsp Ricoa Unsweetened Cocoa powder
6 sticks of Equal Gold – a low calorie substitute for sugar
Nestle All Purpose Cream

PROCEDURE

  • In a pot, boil the chia seeds in 2 cups of water.
  • When it starts to boil, add the cocoa powder and Equal Gold.
  • Mix properly until the powders are dissolved.
  • Pour the Chia Seeds Champorado in a bowl and add some All Purpose Cream.
  • Just add more sweetener or all purpose cream if you want it to be sweeter and creamier.
  • Allow it to be cooler then serve.

There you have it! I hope you will also enjoy this delicious, guilt-free and healthier snack.

See you on my next posts of Chia Seeds recipe.
Keep safe and healthy!

Thank you for the boost, @foodiesunite! Well appreciated :)

Amazing! You can actually make champorado out of chia seeds! Same ra ang texture to the rice version? Di ra sya bidli if naay all-purpose cream? Either way, I'm definitely sharing this with my friend who's a fan of chia.

For me, it's almost the same with the original Champorado. Medyo may gamay lang nga difference sa texture and di raman sad bidli for me ang all purpose cream. If you're not specifically on low carb diet, mas lami jud isagol ang evap or condensed milk.
Anyways, thanks for dropping by! Hope you and your friends will also enjoy this puhon inig try ninyo. 😊
