Hello everyone, I hope you are well today and ready to eat something sweet. These days I enjoy preparing cakes and cookies, and today it will be my pleasure to share with you a simple recipe for a delicious plum dumpling cake.
In my country, dessert plum dumplings are often made. Plum dumplings are fresh ripe plums coated in mashed potato dough and tossed into sweetened cinnamon breadcrumbs. Although I like to eat them, the preparation seems complicated to me, so I have never made them myself. I always wait for my mom to make them. 😊 But there is a cake that tastes the same as plum dumplings and is simpler for me. I made it yesterday and we already ate it. 😊
To prepare this delicious cake, you need about 200 g of breadcrumbs mixed with 4 tablespoons of sugar and vanilla sugar. You can also add cinnamon if you like.
Heat a little butter and fry the breadcrumbs and sugar over low heat.
It should look like this.
Prepare plums, about 1 kg.
Take out the seeds and put them in a pot in which you will cook them for a short time.
Put 3 tablespoons of sugar or less if you don't want it to be very sweet and vanilla sugar.
I also added a little apricot jam.
Heat the plums over low heat. When they release juice, leave them to cook for 10 minutes.
While the plums are cooking, prepare 3 tablespoons of starch mixed in a little water.
I couldn't resist, so I added some Nutella to the plums, but you don't have to do that if you don't want to. 😊
After 10 minutes of cooking, pour the starch mixed with water into the plums.
Now we have to make the cream. Prepare 13 tablespoons of semolina and mix with 7 tablespoons of sugar and vanilla sugar. You can put less sugar depending on how sweet you like it.
Add 200 ml of milk to the semolina and sugar and mix the mixture well.
Boil 800 ml of milk on low heat. Then add the semolina mixture and mix with the spoon until a thick cream is made.
Beat one egg and add it to the end of cooking the cream. Mix everything well, cook for a few minutes and remove from heat.
Now add 70g of butter or margarine to the cream and mix with a spoon until it melts.
Grease the bottom of the baking dish with butter.
Place half of the prepared breadcrumbs and spread them on the bottom.
Then pour half of the cream.
Pour the whole plum mixture over the cream.
Then the other half of the cream.
And finally, the other half of the prepared breadcrumbs.
Cool the cake well and enjoy. I couldn't wait for it to cool, so I immediately cut one piece.
But I recommend that you wait for it to cool down because it will look better when cut and the taste will be very good and refreshing.
