Yummy Tasty "Bharwa Karela" : stuffed bitter gourd

Today I'm going to share with you one of my favorite food recipe, which i learnt from my mother and hope you all will like it.

Ingredients:

  • 500 grams Bitter Gourd (Karela)
  • 2 tbsp Fennel Seeds (grinded thick)
  • 3 tbsp Coriander Powder
  • 1.5 tbsp Red Chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 5 tbsp Mustard Oil
  • Salt as per taste
  • 2 Onion
  • 4 Garlic Clove
  • Small Piece Ginger
  • 2 Green Chillies
  • 1 TSP Aam Achar Masala

How to make stuffing and final preparation:

Step 1
Remove the seeds with your hands or scrape with a small spoon from Karela, boil in slightly on salted water for 3 - 4 minutes, After boil drain and squeeze well.

Step 2
Grind Onion, Garlic, Green chillies, Karela Seed and make paste, add all the dry spice powders and salt in this paste.

Step 3
Heat the 3 tbsp oil and fry raw stuff paste in this oil till they are browned, it took 4-5 min around, now your stuffing masala is ready to stuff

Step 4
Stuff the masala in all the bitter gourds (Can be used whole or in cut, depend upon size of bitter gourds), and press the masala tightly with your thumb so it will not come out while cooking.

Step 5
Cook it on slow flame and remember to cover the pan, For proper cooking need to keep turning stuffed bitter gourd it sides by side, Turning will help to cook properly from all the sides. (This process will take minimum 10- 15 minutes to cook properly)
Step 6
Now it's ready to serve.

Stuffed Bitter Gourd is best to had with rotiā€™s(Indian bread) or with rice.

This dish will remain fresh for minimum 3 days at room temperature and for minimum 10 days in refrigerator.
