Impromptu Dinner at Suzi's Corner

School holiday!!! Yippee!!

We are currently on the 4th day of school holiday. I had been cooking lunch for family and so one of the nights, my husband suddenly said he could bring us out for dinner to ease me a little. Otherwise, it will be me cooking breakfast, lunch and dinner throughout the day asides from the housechores. Thank you, hubby.

The road was so clear and no traffic at all mainly because most people went back to their hometown or village. Husband drove around the town to see which place should we dine at. Initially, we wanted to go to a Chinese Kopitiam but most of the stalls were not opened. We ended up at Suzi's Corner!

Suzi's Corner

Location: Jln Ampang, Kampung Berembang, 55000 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur

This is an Asian Fusion restaurant with few stalls here covering Malay-Thai cuisine, Iranian cuisine and Western cuisine. All three owners came to our table to recommend us their food. The restaurant was rather empty for school holiday.

Loving the open-concept ventilation seating and the friendly workers there. Overall, it is very clean and comfortable.

The food we ordered

My husband ordered from the Iranian stall, he ordered aubergine stew with mutton. This dish wow-ed us. It was somehow a good blend of sourness with herbs and spices and the mutton was cooked until so soft and tender. It came in lentil stew and a plate of rice. Super delicious and addictive.

I myself ordered from Malay-Thai shop, my usual go-to if I was lazy to think, USA fried rice. It was delicious fried rice with beef and a fried egg. Very yummy!!!

My eldest son ordered buttermilk chicken rice from the Western cuisine shop. It was his usual go-to, like whenever he saw butter milk dish, he wouldn't let it go. Haha. Unfortunately, the amount of meat was very little, so he wasn't feeling full, so I gave half of my beef to him. Sharing is caring, lol...

My youngest son couldn't resist Mac 'n Cheese and immediately ordered when he saw it in the menu. And it was surprisingly good. We knew the chef cooked it nicely with three types of cheese in the plate. Well done!

Other waitresses occasionally would come to ask whether do we need any nuggets and fries as add on, but, we did not need it.

Usually, we did not order drinks to stay under the budget of eating-out but husband said let it be our special night, and asked us to order drinks. Yay!

The boys ordered carrot milk juice and watermelon juice, while I ordered hot ginger milk tea and husband ordered iced milk tea.

We really had our slow dinner together as family because it was not crowded nor it was noisy, making it a nice environment for us to just laze around and chit chat. At the end, when everyone had done eating, the guys even played SquadBuster together while I enjoyed my do-nothing-moment. Lol... Just a short 15-minute do-nothing-moment was such a luxury to me.
