Foodies: Local African Dish Preparation - Afang Soup (Gnetum Africanum)

Hello hive foodies, how are you all doing today?
So today I decided to prepare a local soup for dinner. It's called Afang soup, and it's a delicious and nutritious Nigeria local dish.

The ingredients needed for the preparation of this soup are;

  • Water leaves (Talinum fruticosum)
  • Smoked fish
  • Meat
  • Crayfish
  • Seasoning cube and salt
  • Gnetum Africanum leaves (Ukazi or
    Afang leave)
  • Palm oil (red oil)
  • Periwinkle.

Now allow me to take you through the process of this tasty delicious meal that has lots of health benefits.

  • Wash, drain and slice your water leaves.

Grinded Afang leaves

  • Grind your Afang leaves (Gnetum Africanum leaf).

  • Grind your paper, crayfish and chop your onion.

  • Wash your periwinkle with salt.

Preparation process.

  • Boil your meat, smoke fish, stock fish and periwinkle together and allow to cook till it's soft.

  • Add your grinded pepper, onion, and crayfish.

  • Add your seasoning cube and salt to test.

  • Allow it to boil for a while.

  • Add your washed and drained water leaves and allow it to become tender.

  • Add the grinded Afang/ukazi.

  • Add palm oil and cover the pot.

Allow it to steam for like 5 minutes stair and allow for a while on the fire before bringing it down.

My delicious soup it ready to be served, I would be eating it with garri along with pineapple.

Hi @goodysam, the idea is that you present the complete process of the recipe, not isolated photos without sequence, so it is complicated to understand the preparation of this dish.
