Hello foodies! I don't know about you, but more me, weekends always represented cheat days. Or actually, it used to be like that until a while now but happily the past weekend was definitely a delicious one.
While I prefer eating BBQ rather in the cold seasons than in the warm ones, from time to time when my parents come to visit us, we take it as a good opportunity to meet again with the mountains and have some grilled meat. However, summer doesn't mean only vegetables and BBTQ but also watermelon which is amongst my favourite fruits and I wait the entire year until I can have some of these, so some slices couldn't be missing either.
We started with the skewers which is a good way to keep a balance between meat and vegetables, then the common pork and chicken breast, ending with the famous "mici" that everyone falls in love with as soon as they eat some while in Romania.
However, along with all these, we got used to also toast some bread slices directly on the grill, which is the last step before we take a seat and start enjoying the tasty results.
With such a view and the nature and mountains being just a few steps away from you, even the food tastes a lot more delicious, don't you think so? ๐
Oh, and let's not forget about the watermelon that will be my guilty pleasure this summer, lol. I even thought of a new method of cutting it to get less sticky on your hands and still look nice! Some sort of pizza cuts I guess... ๐

That looks amazing @gabrielatravels. In South Africa we call a BBQ a braai (normally done on a wood or charcoal fire as opposed to gas) and have some interesting recipe traditions that often go with it. I will do a blog on one soon.
