Last night, I had the pleasure of dining at Diandin Leluk, a restaurant specializing in Thai cuisine. I don’t often eat out due to the high prices at most restaurants, but this one stood out because, despite having menu items ranging from $12 to $20+, they also offer dishes priced as low as $6 to $7, similar to what you’d find at Hawker stalls.
I tend to focus on the price of food when I eat out, as there are many food stalls that offer great quality meals at very affordable prices. Because of that, I enjoy discovering hidden food gems like this. It's always exciting to find something that suits my taste without breaking the bank. Surprisingly, places like Diandin Leluk manage to offer affordable food in a nice, comfortable restaurant setting. The place is fully air-conditioned, with comfortable seating, which explains why it attracts so many loyal customers. Their business model seems to work well, as they’ve even opened another successful branch nearby. It’s a concept other restaurants could learn from.
I ordered two dishes: the Pineapple Fried Rice and the Seafood Hor Fun.
Thai cuisine is known for its pineapple fried rice, and I enjoyed this one because it was savory, sweet, and refreshing all at once. They added pork floss and bits of Thai sausage, which gave the dish extra flavor.
It was a bit pricey for fried rice with limited toppings, but it was fine since I had another dish to balance it out.
The second dish was the Seafood Hor Fun. I liked this one for the generous amount of vegetables. The mushrooms, in particular, were delicious, and the dish felt healthy to eat. There were plenty of seafood toppings too, making it feel like great value for the price.
The best part was the gravy, thick and perfectly seasoned.
Overall, I was impressed with the food, the affordability, and the ambiance of the place. The Thai desserts looked nice and affordable too, so I’ll definitely be trying them on my next visit!
