Hi guys, EatsLance here. In this blog, I'll tell you about my experience at Roberto's Siopao in Iloilo. I merely traveled to Iloilo City for business. It was my first time staying in Iloilo for a few days; before, I had just passed through Iloilo on our way to Aklan and had never had the opportunity to remain even for a night.
On the Philippine island of Panay, Iloilo City is located. Historic houses and Spanish colonial churches are prominent features.
The cleanliness and tranquility of the city of Iloilo astounded me. Starting around 7 or 8 p.m., the streets are no longer busy; I am used to Cebu City's busyness being active even at midnight. I fell in love with the Iloilo city and have no doubt if I will be transferred there in the future.
@youreuniverse , a good friend of mine, advised a spot to visit in Iloilo. It is well-known throughout the city and well-liked by many. It is Roberto's, located in J.M. Basa Street Iloilo City. The best siopao in town can be found there. Siopao is a Filipino version of the cha siu bao, a Cantonese steamed bun. I'm delighted I'm staying in a hotel close to Roberto's; it's only 500 meters away. I was only passing through on my way to the location. I'm definitely looking forward to trying their Siopao.
When I arrived, I was surprised to learn that they do not simply serve Siopao. They also serve Chicken, Lumpia, and Bola-Bola combo meals, as well as sweets like Halo-Halo and Fruit Salad. I opted to get 1 Combo Meal, 1 Roberto's Queen Siopao, and 1 Dessert because I arrived during midday. I want to try everything, but I know I won't be able to finish everything on my own.
Roberto's Siopao comes in a variety of styles. The Roberto's Queen (bacon, Chinese sausage chicken, pork adobo with egg), Roberto's King (ham, Chinese sausage chicken, pork adobo with egg), Roberto's Jumbo (Chinese sausage chicken, pork adobo with egg), and Roberto's Regular (Chinese sausage chicken, pork adobo with egg) are all available (pork adobo with egg). I went with the most popular and best-selling, Roberto's Queen.
Unfortunately, they will only be available for takeout. According to what I've gathered, before the pandemic, people could dine inside, but due to several limits and precautions, they only served us for take-out till now, despite the fact that some restrictions have already been lifted
I ordered the Roberto's Queen Siopao, Star II Meal (Chicken and Bola-bola with Rice) and wanted to try their Halo-halo, but desserts were unavailable. I carried my food to the hotel where I am staying because they only sell take-out.
First, I tried the Star II Meal. The chicken is delicious; it was marinated and fried to perfection. I wished I had bought two chicken pieces. The bola-bola is also delicious, but I wasn't expecting it to be sweet and sour. I enjoyed how the sweetness and sourness balanced the flavor of the bola-bola. This meal gets a 9 out of 10 from me. And I'm pleased I ate it when it was still hot.
Finally, I tried Roberto's Queen Siopao. I had been eager to experience this, and now I will be able to try the best siopao in town. Despite the fact that I have already consumed one meal, I am still hungry for another. The siopao was quite big, and it appeared to be stuffed with meat. I could already taste the meat and seasonings inside when I took my first mouthful. I would recommend trying the Siopao when it was still hot for a better experience. The flavor of the Siopao was fantastic. One siopao is enough to fill your tummy, therefore it's well worth it.This is, without a doubt, the greatest siopao I've ever had. It's no surprise that people adore Roberto's Siopao and never tire of eating it. For me, this siopao is a ten out of ten.
I'm grateful that my first business trip when the pandemic began was to Iloilo City, the city of love. I had a great time in Iloilo because of how kind the people are and how good their food is. I'd like to return there for a vacation solely to spend my time exploring more areas in Iloilo and sampling their foods and delicacies.
