Hey hivers! Hope you all are fine. Let's check out my Bengali style chicken curry which is very common in a Bengali house.

  1. First of all I Have marinated the freshly cleaned chicken pieces with some turmeric and salt.

  2. Before starting the cooking process, I have prepared ginger garlic paste by using old method (grinding these by hand using "Shil Nora" or Bengali version of pestle and mortar). I have also collected fresh bay leaves and curry leaves from our small home garden.

3.Now heat the oil in a kadhai and add some dried chilies.

4.Then add some cloves, cardamoms and cinnamons onto the heated oil.

7.Now add the marinated chicken and mix with all of the spices. You have to stir it often and make sure not to burn the spices. Fry until the spices and oil are separated.

During this step you can add some semi fried potatoes or you may skip.

8.Add hot water and cover it with lid.

Here I have served it with Basmati rice. I Have also added potatoes in my chicken curry because we Bengalis are all about potatoes 😉
