Hello friends, greetings, today I bring you the recipe for 1kg wet chocolate cake" Sometimes it is difficult to make a cake weigh what the customer asks for; it is the first time that I sell a cake from a kilo I am in a group of purchases and sales of everything, and one day a client asked who made 1 kilo chocolate cake for $ 10. Without thinking twice I took a risk and this was the result.
Ingredients:
- For the cake
- 1 1/2 cup flour
- 1 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 50 grams of cocoa
- 1/2 cup of milk
- 1/2 cup oil
- 1 tsp vinegar (place in milk)
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tbsp vanilla
- 1/2 glass of espresso
- For the Meringue:
- 2 egg whites
- 125 g. sugar (twice the weight of whites)
- 40 ml. of water
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
Preparation of the chocolate cake:
Step 1.
- Beat the eggs very well with the sugar then add the oil, continue beating until everything is integrated and set aside.
Step 2.
- In a separate bowl, sift the flour, add the salt, bicarbonate and cocoa powder.
Step 3.
- Add a part of the flour to the previous mixture, then part of the milk, flour again and finish with the remaining milk.
Step 4.
- Add the vanilla and coffee and mix.
Step 5.
- We grease the mold with butter. I used two 15 x 8 molds, and in each one I put 400 grams of the mixture. Bake in a preheated 180 ° C oven for about 25 minutes or by inserting a toothpick, it comes out clean.
- To moisten the cake, prepare a syrup of water with sugar and cocoa, and place it while the cake is hot, open some holes with a toothpick or with the tip of a knife and place the syrup. Now let the cake cool to decorate.
Preparation of Italian meringue.
Step 1.
- We place the two egg whites in a glass bowl with a pinch of salt and begin to assemble it and add 30 grams of sugar.
Step 2.
- Prepare the syrup with the rest of the sugar and 40ml of water, put on the fire until reaching a temperature of 120 ° C or until reaching the point of string or ball. To do this insert a spoon and lift it, the syrup should fall slowly and in the form of a thread.
Step 3.
- Without stopping to beat the whites, add the hot syrup in the form of a fine thread, little by little, so that the whites are armed and cooked. We must continue beating until the bowl is totally cold and the meringue is firm.
Step 4.
- Once the meringue is ready, add the cocoa powder and with very smooth movements, add the meringue and you are ready to decorate as you like.
And ready here is the 1kilo cake, it yields for 9 to 10 servings.
