it comes to decorating cakes, there are no limits for those who are dedicated to this wonderful art, and is that it tests all creative ideas, the more original and different the better.
That is where edible flowers, also called sugar flowers, play a very important role, as they are used by confectioners as a very useful tool, because they are perfect to give that delicate and different touch to our work.
There are many ways to use flowers: to decorate, to give touches of color, to add flavor to desserts.
In this opportunity I will show you how to make very simple sugar roses that will be very useful to add that special touch, and the most important thing is that with few materials you can make a large quantity.
Ingredients Needed:
200 gramos de fondant.
1 gram of cmc.
Edible glue.
1 brush.
Edible coloring.
Sphere stake.
Florist wire (optional)
Acetate
Petal or circular cutters
Rolling pin
¡MANOS A LA OBRA!
LET'S GET TO WORK!
For any work to be successful, the first thing we must do is the mise en place and this is nothing more than having all the ingredients or utensils on our work table.
1.. The first step would be to join the 200 grams of fondant (sugar paste for modeling) and 1 gram of CMC (edible thickener that will make our dough more flexible and dry quickly), knead gently until you get a tender and delicate dough that will be very easy to handle with your hands.
2.. The next step is to add color and that will depend on the preference of each one, in this case 2 drops of pink coloring gel were added.
3.. We take a small portion of dough, about 3 grams and make a drop with our hands, it will look like this: and we reserve it while we make the petals.
4.. With a new portion of dough we will make the petals of the rose, with our hands form a sphere and place it in the middle of two acetates and then flatten it with the rolling pin until it reaches approximately 2 millimeters.
5.. With the cutter you should get 12 petals and flatten them individually to smooth their edges. you will do this with a sphere-shaped stick. but don't limit yourself, I didn't have that tool and used the empty lip gloss container.
6.. Now you have everything ready to assemble your edible roses, remember the drop that you reserved? that will be your base that you will wrap with two petals that will be spread with edible glue (125 grams of cmc and 5 teaspoons of water).
7.. This base is followed by four petals sticking always to the opposite and finally 6 petals, in this simple way we have as a result a beautiful, useful and most importantly delicious applique!!!
Thanks for joining and I hope you enjoyed it.❤️
