Sentarte durante, por lo menos, dos horas a comer toda la cantidad de carne que desees y pagar un precio fijo, es el concepto de los restaurantes tipo Rodizio y quiero contarte mi experiencia en uno de estos restaurantes tipo “all you can eat”.
Sitting down for at least two hours to eat as much meat as you want and pay a fixed price is the concept of Rodizio restaurants and I want to share with all of you guys you about my experience in one of these "all you can eat" restaurants.
El restaurante Madeira Internacional está ubicado en Barquisimeto, estado Lara, Venezuela. Es uno de los lugares más recomendados por su concepto “come todo lo que quieras”.

Tuve la oportunidad de visitarlo en compañía de mi hija Carlota, mi mamá y dos de sus compañeras de trabajo. Lo primero que me encantaría comentar es que vale cada centavo. El precio es de $14.99 por persona y esto incluye todos los cortes de carnes y contornos entre los que puedes encontrar gran variedad de ensaladas, vegetales, mariscos, entre otros. Adicional debes cancelar por el consumo de bebidas y postres. En promedio un jugo puede ir desde los $2 y un postre a partir de $3.99.
I had the opportunity to visit it with my daughter Carlota, my mom and two of her coworkers. The first thing I would love to comment is that it is worth every penny. The price is 14.99 USD per person and this includes all cuts of meats and contours among which you can find a wide variety of salads, vegetables, seafood, among others. You must pay an additional fee for drinks and desserts. On average a juice can go from $2 and a dessert from $3.99.
El lugar es tan demandado que por la temporada navideña debes hacer reservación mínimo una semana antes. Para esto tienes que elegir entre el rango de horario que ofrecen:

The place is so popular that for the Christmas season you must make a reservation at least one week in advance. For this you have to choose from the range of hours they offer:

Comencemos por las carnes
Apenas llegas te ubican en la mesa reservada para ti, te explican el sistema que usan el servicio y te sirven un delicioso carpaccio de lomito con pan al ajo y unas pequeñas porciones de ceviche.
Let's start with the meats
As soon as you arrive you are placed at the table reserved for you, they explain the system they use and serve you a delicious limito carpaccio with garlic bread and small portions of ceviche.
El sistema es el siguiente: tienes en promedio dos horas para comer (aunque en otros Rodizios puede que no te coloquen límite de horas, en este se organizan de esa manera debido a la demanda por la temporada decembrina). Cada comensal tiene una ficha que dice SI en verde y NO en color rojo, la idea es usarla para indicarle al mesonero quien desea un corte de carne. De esta manera cada persona del grupo puede ir comiendo a su ritmo y eligiendo el corte que más le apetezca.
The system is as follows: you have an average of two hours to eat (although in other Rodizios they may not set a time limit, in this one they organize it that way due to the demand for the Christmas season). Each diner has a token with YES in green and NO in red, the idea is to use it to indicate to the waiter who wants a cut of meat. In this way, each person in the group can eat at his or her own pace and choose the cut he or she likes the most.
En el salón central del restaurante se encuentra dos grandes barras con una gran variedad de contornos, principalmente ensaladas, verduras, pastas, sopas, salsas, aderezos, son ilimitados y es casi imposible probarlos todos, la variedad es increíble.
In the central hall of the restaurant there are two large bars with a wide variety of contours, mainly salads, vegetables, pastas, soups, sauces, dressings, are unlimited and it is almost impossible to try them all, the variety is incredible.
Calidad en atención y comida
Me sentí como si estuviera en un restaurante súper lujoso, nos atendieron como magnates, nuestros platos nunca estaban vacíos y los mesoneros se ocupaban de los detalles más mínimos, incluso podías hacer peticiones especiales, por ejemplo, papitas fritas para Carlota, apenas veían que se las había terminado me consultaban si les traían más. Cada corte de carne era más rico que el anterior. Disfrutamos de lomito, churrascos, alitas de pollo BBQ, con queso parmesano, Chuletas y costillas de cerdo, diferentes tipos de chorizo y mi favorito, fue el lomito con queso parmesano.
Quality of service and food
I felt like I was in a super luxurious restaurant, we were served like magnates, our plates were never empty and the waiters took care of the smallest details, you could even make special requests, for example, french fries for Carlota, as soon as they saw that she had finished them they asked me if they would bring them more. Each cut of meat was tastier than the previous one. We enjoyed sirloin steak, churrascos, BBQ chicken wings with parmesan cheese, pork chops and ribs, different types of chorizo and my favorite was the sirloin steak with parmesan cheese.
Todas las carnes estaban en su punto, jugosas, con muy buen sabor, recién hechas y siempre súper calientes, al momento de sacarlas de la espada donde las traían debías agarrarlas con unas pequeñas pinzas para ponerlas en tu plato y disfrutarlas al instante.
All the meats were just right, juicy, with very good flavor, freshly made and always super hot, when you took them out of the sword where they were brought you had to grab them with small tongs to put them on your plate and enjoy them instantly.
Además de los mesoneros, hay “capitanes” que son como los coordinares de mesa que a través de un auriculares anunciaban los pedidos especiales y así es como no habían pasado dos minutos cuando recibías lo que habías pedido, como en el caso de mi mamá que pidió unos panes a la leña con crema de ajo que estaban fabulosos, y llegaron súper rápido.
In addition to the waiters, there are "captains" who are like table coordinators who announced the special orders through a headset and that's how not two minutes had passed when you received what you had ordered, as in the case of my mom who ordered some wood-fired breads with garlic cream that were fabulous, and they arrived super fast.
Considerando la calidad de los platos y el servicio, realmente no quieres irte del lugar, pero como no todo es perfecto, y sabiendo de antemano que la reservación la hiciste por un bloque de horario, eres consiente que no vas a pasar todo el día sentado en la mesa, así que debes optimizar tu tiempo para comer y disfrutar durante tu permanencia.
Considering the quality of the dishes and the service, you really don't want to leave the place, but since not everything is perfect, and knowing beforehand that the reservation was made for a block of time, you are aware that you are not going to spend all day sitting at the table, so you should optimize your time to eat and enjoy during your stay.
Las instalaciones y su decoración
Por ser diciembre la decoración es otro aspecto positivo del lugar. Hay árboles, muñecos de nieve, santas, osos, renos y en cualquier rincón puedes tomarte unas fotos espectaculares. Es un restaurante que se adapta a diferentes ocasiones, almuerzos en familia, cenas románticas, reuniones corporativas, bautizos, cumpleaños entre otros, desde los más pequeños hasta los más grandes pueden disfrutarlo, porque lo mejor es que cada uno puede comer lo que más le guste, hay opciones para TODOS.
The facilities and decoration
Since it is December, the decoration is another positive aspect of the place. There are trees, snowmen, santas, bears, reindeer and in any corner you can take spectacular pictures. It is a restaurant that adapts to different occasions, family lunches, romantic dinners, corporate meetings, baptisms, birthdays among others, from the youngest to the oldest can enjoy it, because the best thing is that everyone can eat what they like, there are options for ALL.
Son dos grandes salones donde pueden recibir casi 400 personas entre ambos. Pero no te preocupes si crees que son muchas personas al mismo tiempo, porque hay más de 200 trabajadores para atenderte, entre mesoneros, cocineros, asistentes de cocina, capitanes de mesa, personal de limpieza y azafatas. Cómo el restaurante está en las instalaciones de un hotel, tienes acceso al área de la piscina, donde puedes tomarte fotos y disfrutar de un hermoso atardecer característico de la ciudad que es conocida por sus particulares crepúsculos.
There are two large halls that can receive almost 400 people between them. But don't worry if you think there are too many people at the same time, because there are more than 200 workers to serve you, including waiters, cooks, kitchen assistants, table captains, cleaning staff and hostesses. As the restaurant is in the hotel facilities, you have access to the pool area, where you can take pictures and enjoy a beautiful sunset characteristic of the city, which is known for its particular twilights.
Finalmente la cuenta fue bastante razonable (considerando los precios en Venezuela) el total, incluyendo impuestos, fue de $68.81 por Rodizio para cuatro personas, cuatro jugos y un agua. Menos de $18 por persona. La verdad vale la pena, será un momento súper agradable y tendrás fotos maravillosos para recordarlo.
Finally the bill was quite reasonable (considering the prices in Venezuela) the total, including taxes, was $68.81 for Rodizio for four people, four juices and a water. Less than $18 per person. It is really worth, it will be a super nice time and you will have wonderful photos to remember it by.
Me encantaría saber qué tan común es este tipo de restaurante dónde estás y si crees que vale la pena invertir esta cantidad de dinero para disfrutar de una buena comida con tus familiares o amigos durante alguna fecha especial.
I would love to know how common this type of restaurant is where you are and if you think it is worth investing this amount of money to enjoy a good meal with your family or friends during a special date.
