Tonight we went out for a very traditional winter Taiwan meal. It jokingly called Mother Ginger Duck, but it's a play on the translation. The ginger “薑母”carries the character for "mother 母" which is next to the character "duck鴨". In fact, it's just a duck cooked with lots of ginger and rice wine.
Then there are the additional food items that are thrown in the pot and heated over a gas range. In the picture, there are taro balls, meat balls, dried tofu (squares), cabbage, duck intestine and stomach, and squid balls.
Of course, the wine and ginger create a warm feeling and might even cause a light sweat. It us usually served with a tofu sauce to dip the items in after cooking.
The head is reserved for the eldest member or whoever wants it. In this case, no one but my wife wanted it. 😅 Which was fine with me.

All picture are taken by me with IPhone 14.
Great post! Keep up the good work!
