Foodie Dates with My Food Buddy

Hangouts are not complete without food! It's more fun to share stories and engage in random conversations over delectable food. We enjoy each other's companionship if we have food we can give each other.

And most of us have their own food buddies or someone we are always with in trying out different foods. Me and my partner always try out different foods in each of our dates. Let me share with you some of the foods we tried.

Carrot cake and Iced Coffee

For a little afternoon coffee date, we ordered the cake of the day from a simple café in our town. The carrot cake was not overly sweet - it was really balanced. The cream cheese made the cake really stand out more.

The layering was really pretty and it was almost a waste to eat it. That was the first time I ate a carrot cake and it was really a delightful experience. The iced coffee paired the cake well too!

Tonkatsu Curry and Lemonade

Here was another first time for me. It was my first ever tonkatsu curry. We went to a restaurant in our town and the prices were surprisingly affordable. Their food was really good. We tried their carbonara before and it was creamy and tasty.

And their tonkatsu made me fall in love with their place. The meat was really tender and juicy. The barbecue sauce was a perfect sauce while the curry made the whole dish rich and delectable. The shredded cabbage balanced out the dish well. We also paired it with a cold lemonade and it was the perfect meal.

BLT sandwich and Passion Berry Milk Tea

It was my birthday and I wanted my food buddy to try this bacon, lettuce and tomato (BLT) sandwich that I really love from another cafe in this another town. It was my first time kme again to taste a BLT sandwich.

At first, I thought the combination would not work for me but I was wrong. The freshness of the veggies was thebest partner for the smoky and crispy bacon. We paired it with a passion fruit milktea and it was the perfect birthday for me.

Carbonara/Spaghetti and Tuna sandwich

For our small personal celebration, we had a pasta foodie date. We tried another cafe and ordered their pasta dishes. Their carbonara was like any other carbonara - creamy and cheesy. Though I hoped they put more bacon. But, I really loved their marinara spaghetti because it was really meaty and tomatoey. I hope I can come and order their pasta again!

Cappuccino and Waffles and Carbonara again

I've always wanted to try some waffles and at last, I experienced it. We tried another cafe and I chose their waffles with berries. The waffles was soft and fluffy. The mixed berry jam was so good. I enjoyed it with a cappuccino which I thought was kind of bitter but still good. I like my coffee bitter. However, their carbonara was too watery for me. It was not like other carbonara sauce that sticks and coats the pasta.
