The Talipapa next door
Happy late hump day, amazing people!
When I returned home from taking my daughter to school earlier this morning, around 7:30, I was, for some reason, starving. Perhaps on the grounds that I just had a cup of coffee around 3 a.m. Regularly close to this time, a Taho vendor meanders around the area. However, I failed to spot him today. Yes, it's a huge mess because I also ran out of coffee. I went to check the refrigerator to see what was available. There is nothing to prepare, lol. I haven't gone grocery shopping in more than a week. Fortunately, my neighbors own a "talipapa" next door. They are farmers who sell their own harvest in addition to other dry foods that can be found at a typical wet market in the Philippines.
TALIPAPA - is a temporary tiny market with removable stalls, and they sell fruits, vegetables, fish, meat, and even condiments in packets.
Along these lines, I went to check if they had new harvest vegetables. I love veggies in the morning. Although this was the first time I saw them selling various kinds of dried fish, they only had potatoes and cabbage. Dried fish has been a long time coming for me. I purchased three distinct varieties and fried a packet. I added sliced tomatoes with slashed stews, and boom! It was great. We say "Solb" (solved) in Filipino. In English, it was a great meal!
It's kind of funny, though. We Filipinos, or generally Asians, eat dried fish. When my Caucasian husband was here in the Philippines, he detested it. He began to enjoy some local vegetable dishes, but not dried fish. He claims that it smells like stinky feet lol. Sorry about that. The first time I cooked "tuyo" (one of my favorite dried fish) in the house, he became ill and couldn't eat for a day. We don't have an outdoor kitchen, so that's where it all started. Oooops.
Anyway, these were the dried fish they had at the talipapa next door. You can research it. To me, they all taste and look the same haha.

- dilis

Hi there my friend @bloghound
😱 OMG I'm sorry but I have to agree with your hubby...I'm not a fish or seafood eater...so that's where it stems from I'm sure..🥴 I also don't like celantro and radishes cause it all tastes like dirt to me.🤢
Ahaha I fully understand, @jeridawn my friend! 😁

Wow!
Haha
😁 Pahamak kasi ang amoy sis no?
Haha.
True, sis. The amoy is the key lol
Sarap isawsaw niyan sa suka sis. Tapos sinangag. Perfect breakfast for me. ♥️
