Cicerllo's is a bit of a fond memory for us... it was the place that we go as a family when we were little as a sort of a treat, fish and chips on the foreshore. Actually, it was a bit of a Perth/Fremantle institution... one of the best known fish and chip places... fresh fish straight from the sea meeting Italian chefs... yum yum and yum, it was always a step up from your local fish and chipery.
These days, it has expanded a bit... and is slightly more touristy, but still an attractive destination... or perhaps, it was always like this and I was too young to know?
So, when we visited Perth... we had to take our kids here, to see if it was still a top fish and chip place... or if it was a rose-tinted memory that was best left as a memory?
The Space
Honestly, I don't really remember much of the place itself... a large timber building with the breeze blowing straight through. From memory, we would just eat in the park and sun outside, but on this particular day it was quite blustery, and so we chose to stay inside... where it was still windy, but a touch less so!
The Menu
So many different options for the fish... our danger is that we aren't big eaters, and so we are prone to ordering too much and feeling bloated afterwards... especially as I get older and can eat less and less oily foods.
The Food
Calamari rings are always a favourite with our kids, and well... these were perfect. Herbed and nice and crunchy on the outside, gently cooked on the inside. These were baked though, so not at all oily... wow, this was starting to be as good as I remembered!
... and then the family platter of mixed fish and shellfish. And again, there was so much goodness in here... everything was fresh and perfectly cooked, even the deep fried stuff was perfect, and NOT oily!
The Experience
So, in the end, this was even BETTER than I remembered... service was fast, and there was ample seating and space. Top quality fish and chips in a foreshore setting, a perfect place to bring the family, and if you are visiting Fremantle, this is a must visit for lunch or dinner!

Cicerello's is beautiful, good for eating with family as they are a lot of space in the place, we can forget something about a place we haven't visited for quite long, I am sure many people would love perth because they have good customer service.
