The Legendary : Padang Food from Indonesia

Reminiscing the End of Year Event, on 28 December 2021. My Office Division decided to have this small celebration. It something accustomed in our office to always have this luncheon together to welcome the New Year. We also were required to bring present to be exchanged among each other. In this opportunity, we went to the one of infamous restaurant serves the Padang food.

I call Padang food as a Legendary Food isn't for nothing. Padang food is the most well known cuisine across Indonesia. You can find the Padang Restaurant almost wherever you go in Indonesia.

Padang Food is a distinguished cuisine coming from West Sumatera Region with the capital city named Padang city, that's why we call it "Padang" Food. Not only in Indonesia, Padang food also well known in some other countries in South East Asia.

In the pictures you can see almost all the food was served by soup made from coconut milk. It is like a "signature" of Padang Food. Aside of that, please don't be too shocked that you will find many spicy and hot foods served.

Padang restaurant will always showcase their food stocks in the front window next to the entrance door. The plates are carefully piled upon each other. It has its unique way in serving their food.

There are three ways of serving when you eat Padang Food. The two first below are when you eat it directly at the restaurant.

1. First is A La Carte, by order directly, tells the waiter in the front door before coming in and take a seat. You tells what you want to have on your plate from what seen on the stocks food at the window, just like that.

2. Another is by telling them to serve whatever they have on your table, like you saw in mine. The restaurant will be so eager to take out as much food as possible to be served on the table. This way, the chance for visitor eat much more will be higher and they will profit.

3. Take away the food. This is very special to tell that you will get much more Padang Food (like very much of the rice) inside the wrapped compare when you dine in the restaurant. It actually has its own good philosophy to do like that.

Padang Food is the comfort food for most of Indonesian. At my house in particular, if my Mom doesn't cook and we don't know what to eat for the day, Padang Food come to the rescue like an escape (yes I have limited abilities in cooking >_<,).
