I miss my mother. One sentence that makes me very sad lately. September is a month that I don't like exactly 8 years ago. My mother left me, she was no longer sick. After enduring the pain of diabetes that she suffered for years, she finally recovered forever. But, what happened was that I was the one who suffered from her loss.
It's been 8 years and I miss her so much lately. So I intend to give her something, but, we are separated by distance and time. Of course, only prayers and prayers at all times will reach her. But, I really want to make something. It may seem very troublesome but I really want to share on behalf of my mother.
Deciding to make kebabs, I made them for every courier or online motorcycle taxi driver who stopped by the house, also guests who came without exception. I wanted to make 40 pieces of kebabs so that everyone could enjoy them. At least sharing can make my heart forget a little about missing my mother.
I kept myself busy, from the morning I had been shopping for kebab needs and finally made them in a short time. It turned out, making kebabs was very easy. This food is really practical without thinking about many condiments. Its easy-to-eat shape is also something I take into account, because it's for other people, so they can enjoy it quickly and practically.
Well, this is also something I rarely do. I've never made kebabs, let alone complete like this. with special meat for kebabs, thick tortillas, lettuce harvested from my husband's hydroponics and also eggs. This is very fun, not having to think about spices, vegetables, and everything is complete in one bite.
Kebabs already include protein, fat, carbohydrates and fiber. Food that I rarely eat, but it turns out to be that easy to make. I bought 2 packs of tortillas containing 20 pieces, then 15 eggs, 2 pieces of onion and also 1 kilogram of lettuce. I used mayonnaise and chili sauce and tomato sauce.
Making kebabs is also easy if you have sautéed the special kebab meat, if you see a kebab seller, the meat they have grilled is sliced thinly. But, because I don't have a grill like that, I just sauteed it with a pan. The meat already has a taste, there is a smoky aroma and also a savory salty taste in the sauteed meat. After sauteing the meat, I also sauteed onions and eggs.
Omelette adds a source of protein to the kebab that I made. I like egg filling, it turns out it makes it taste very good. So, not too many vegetables but I increase the source of protein, so that everyone is happy.
After everything is wrapped in one tortilla, then toasted on the kebab skin so that it is crispy. The tortilla skin will be soft if not toasted, so that there is a feeling like biting into bread. Besides, this is done so that it is easy to put it in the kebab wrapper. Also, so that the warmth makes it taste better. Warm food is always fun.
Well, I have made a lot of kebabs. I will share this, but, in order to protect the privacy of the people I will give it to, I did not take any photos at all. Honestly, I don't want to show off doing this. but, I really want my mother to know that I did this for her. At least someday, I can read this again.
