Silky Soft! Castella Cake Recipe

Although it is possible that the castella cake actually originated in Spain.1 Friend foodies will definitely want to try this cake which is famous for its softness.

To enjoy castella cake, foodies friends can try to make it yourself at home, because to make it the method is quite easy. Curious! Here I share a recipe for making castella cake.



Recipe for making soft castella cake

  • Prepare a sieve, then sift 70g of cake flour. After filtered add 2g salt.

  • Prepare 70g of unsalted butter, then cut into pieces.

  • Heat unsalted butter, after completely melted add 80 ml of milk.

  • Then add the melted butter into the cake flour. Mix well.

  • Add 5 egg yolks and 1 tsp vanilla extract. Mix well.

  • Put 5 egg whites in a separate bowl. Add 1/4 tsp lemon juice. Then blend until frothy.

  • Add 90g of sugar. Then blend until smooth.

  • Mix the egg whites that have been in the blender earlier, into the cake flour mixture. Stir until evenly distributed.

  • Put into the mold size 16cm. Add enough water to the pot for baking. Place in the oven at 150°C for 60 minutes.
