I was quite attracted to your title, as negative emotions are just my best buddies for life. I know you just explained it all in simple terms to be understood yet I can't stop myself from asking, "How do you express any better when your express causes others distress?"
You see negative emotions are very energetic and they do not intend to give up any soon. So, let me just be direct, to me what happens is that I DO express but then things just become messier, do you get my point? Coming in line with one's thoughts is never easy nor is identifying the cause of such negative emotions.
"Try to change what you can change"- isn't it like running away? Escaping from the situation by changing it as you can't deal with it? Ah! My mind is again circulating in the same sphere.
What do you think, if one starts to accept their negative emotions will that help them to become a better version of themselves and also automatically bring change in their negative emotions?
Trying to change what you can change does not mean you are running away. Ignoring the emotions is when you are actually trying to run or shy away from what's so clear to you. The process of trying to change those things that you can actually change means you have accept whatever is causing that emotion and you are ready to face it in other to get yourself feeling better once again. Accepting those emotions is the first step to finding solutions, don't get it twisted, we are humans, these emotions are suppose to be there but if we don't manage them they tend to take a better part of us. I understand when you said facing your emotions even make it look more difficult, well, that's because you are doing it wrongly. Facing your emotions or understanding what's causing them does not mean it will make it better, it shows you are willing to help yourself feel better. I don't know how much of a positive human you are, but if the percentage of positivity in your life is way higher than that of negativity, I think you shouldn't have troubles managing your negative emotions. I really appreciate your honest and beautiful comment, I just hope this help though.
true thing!
It's quite the opposite, that is quite the reason why I was curious to know more.
Thank you so much for replying in elaboration. It means a lot to my curious mind. I'm happy I at least completed the first step 😅 maybe one day these emotions will be in my control and no more traumatic cycle of events will continue. Thank you so much for your feedback 😇
You're welcome, I'm glad I could help. I really hope your mind is free from those thoughts that disturb it.
