Moong Dal Chilla :: Green Gram Pancake :: Health at its Tastiest :: Must Try

Hello friends,

Today I have made a different yet delicious dish, the dish is high on taste and super High on health. These days during the pandemic we have really focused on our immunity and as the old say, the immunity is what we eat. So I present in front of you :

Moong Dal Chila ( Green Gram Pancake )

These pancakes are the best disguise that you can feed the young lads who want to have taste in their food and you want to make it healthier. Green Gram is the most prominent source of protein in Vegan category, despite being the lightest among lentils family. Also, the dish that I have prepared is very simple and raw in the terms that green gram is consumed without losing its nutritious benefits. Also I have added Tofu to make it a complete package of micro and macro nutrients.

Nutrition Benefits (per pancake) : Protein 8.5g ; Carbs 15.5g ; Fats 4.3g ; Fiber 4.8g, in total amounting to 120 calories.

Ingredients :

  • Water soaked Green Gram.
  • Regular spices to taste.
  • Finely Chopped Onions(you can add any other veggies as per your taste).

Soak the gram for 2 hours.

Drain the water and add fresh water and soaked gram to the grinder.

Grind the gram to make a liquid paste.

Now add spices to the paste and mix it well.

Add Chopped onions to the paste and give it a thorough mix.

The making of Chilla(pancake).

Heat the pan and pour a spoon of vegetable oil.

Add a cup of paste to the pan and cook it for at least 2 minutes.

Time to turn the chilla so that we can cook it from another side.

And it is ready, spread grated tofu.

Best to serve with Mint sauce.

Delicious!!

Thank You!

In Venezuela, green beans or lentils are used for all kinds of dishes, including croquettes, creams and pancakes like these. The difference is that we add almost no spices. A touch of salt and that's it, haha. But this dish looks great and I'm sure it tastes better than I imagine. The onion was what pleased me, the onion gives a very special touch to the food.

And the post is very well done, I love the pictures, they are beautiful!. Thank you very much for sharing. :D

Looks very appealing, and I've heard of chillas but never eaten them. They look almost like a cross between a vada and a dosa. I think I'd like this for breakfast the most.
